OFF ROAD IN SALALAH — 5-Day Overland Expedition to Oman

Trip Report: Overland 5-Day Expedition to Oman (Salalah during Khareef) — August 2023 What an epic trip! 12 vehicles, 5 days, over 2,000km of driving across some of the most spectacular scenery in Arabia. **Day 1:** Dubai → Muscat via E44. Brief stop at Bidbid. Camp outside Muscat. **Day 2:** Muscat → Nizwa → Salalah highway. Hajar mountains section. **Day 3:** Salalah arrival. The green mountains during Khareef are absolutely surreal — nothing like the UAE. **Day 4:** Wadi Dawkah — frankincense trees and incredible rocky terrain. Best driving of the trip. **Day 5:** Return via coastal road, stopping at Mirbat. Highlights: The Dhofar region completely transforms during monsoon season. Highly recommend for any serious off-roader. Water crossings were challenging but manageable with experienced marshals leading. Will post photos when I get a chance to sort through 2,000+ shots! 📸
