The Destination :
Let’s have a nice and easy family drive to a waterfall in Buraimi, Oman. SUV owners with clearance are welcome as well as the track is mostly tarmac with a little stretch of gatch in the end. The waterfall can be accessed on foot with a little bit of trekking or swimming depending on your preference and ease. So get your swim-wear, goggles and water shoes out. You can bring your lunch box and fluids along or plan for a late afternoon barbeque. We will be out of the water latest by 4:30 p.m. and you can then return to Dubai or stay back and bbq.
Please bring along a trash bag as we will take out what we bring in and leave the place neat and clean.
As we will be entering into Omani territory, you will require your passport with a valid UAE residence visa to gain access. Please note that you do not need a visa to enter Oman, you just need to show your passport to prove your UAE visa validity. Your car should also have Oman insurance coverage. There is a facility to get Oman insurance coverage at the meeting point. However, to save time and unexpected disappointments, I would highly recommend you to get your insurance sorted beforehand. Most of the 4x4s and SUVs are normally covered in Oman as well so please check your insurance policy. Passengers on visit/tourist visa will not be permitted.

quote Pbencini:Am really happy to see a drive :drive: like this posted but unfortunately I can’t join this coming Friday. :((
I hope you can do more of these in the future 😀No worries Philip. There’s always a next time 🙂 .
The idea is to offer variety and options for the members.
The weather forecast for Buraimi on Saturday is a sunny day with a maximum temperature of 32C around noon time which should be perfect for us to build up a little sweat and jump into the water :yesss: .
Please be on time and double check your Oman insurance coverage. Kindly note that only members with a passport and valid UAE residence visa will be allowed to cross the border. Passengers on visit visa will be turned away. Please do not forget to bring your passport.

AymanHi Ayman
No worries. If you do manage to find another ride without the Oman insurance coverage, you can always purchase one from the meeting point. Since it’s a Saturday, I don’t anticipate a lot of rush.

🙂Ahmad Sb, not only water, the wadi was buzzing with life. We saw frogs, insects, a gecko and plenty of fish as this underwater video will demonstrate. I am sure the snakes are not far behind and you will easily spot one during the evening.
