Friday was an AWESOME drive! Huge contrast between the morning and afternoon, spectacular scenery to a steady moving fewbie drive with a side order of adrenaline!
Thanks to all the marshals and deputies and especially Abdalla for organizing and leading this great drive!

I always hear people say “this was the best drive ever so far!” I think we dune riders get so high on adrenaline from our most recent drive that we forget everything before that :drive: . Well last Friday was no exception and Abdalla took us on a great tour of the wadis of RAK and Sharjah and then off into the dunes with a night cap BBQ :ymhug: . The whole day was unique and a great adventure.
We started off the day with a drive through a wadi that was close to wadi Showka but wasn’t wadi Showka :-\ . We were a long convoy of about probably 20 cars or so 😮 . This was not easy task either as the track….wait, was there actually a track??? 😕 OK, Abdalla’s improvised track took us around some graded areas, washed out roads, goat paths, boulder crossings, barbed wire fences, water and mud pools, tight squeezes, to finally land at Buraq Dam #:-s . A few times Abdalla had to get out and scout the scene on foot before choosing the best line for the convoy to follow :-s . We definitely covered some challenging terrain that was an interesting change from our usual sand adventures. When we arrived at the dam, we took an hour break for lunch and socializing :ymhug: . With a bit of water and mud around a few of the cars took advantage of it to see who could get their car the dirtiest (showoffs =))
By 2pm we had loaded up the convoy and headed off to the 2nd of December to meet up with our afternoon dune buddies. The afternoon drive was split into newbies and fewbees plus. I understand that Sam led the fewbee convoy with support from Greg and Baher. I had the opportunity to lead the newbie convoy with support from Abdalla and Avinash. This was a great opportunity and nice experience to feel the full responsibility of leading a convoy #:-s
Our drive took us from 2nd December to Big Red and back to Pink Rock :drive: . By sunset we had arrived at Pink Rock. Those who wanted to leave were escorted out by Abdalla :-H . The rest of us stayed to enjoy a nice BBQ with each other and the fewbee convoy, who had met up with us. ~O)
Like most people said, “this was the best drive ever so far!” and it truly was just that and even more! A huge thanks to Abdalla for taking us on a fantastic journey; it was very much appreciated by all and a unique experience to be remembered!! :thanks: :thanks:
