We did this drive a couple of months back and camped. An amazing drive and highly recommended!!

I recommend that all drivers ensure their air filters are clean and transmission oil is healthy. This is a steep climb and some cars may need to stop for 10mins. We were fine but our friendโ€™s car wasnโ€™t as new and had to stop.

    Enjoy everyone ๐Ÿ™‚

Do we need to air down our tyres? What would be the ideal psi?

Guys, what do you think about bbq in the mountains? I have all necessary equipment, like portable grill, umbrellas, tables, chairs etc.

Yes its best to air down on this terrain – I usually go to about 22 or so.

Should be fine, weather allowing! Will be cooler the higher we get and so long as you don’t have a fire on the ground and ensure you clear up properly, it’s great! Please ensure you bring a good strong garbage bag too and leave enough time for your coals to cool off so you can take them with you!

Hi Jo. I was at Jais last week. There are metal cans to throw away the used coals. Washrooms are working fine, with lights and water. One should always carry own trash bags and ensure complete cleanliness.

    Hey T,
Yes I remember now it’s quite civilised in places – was thinking wild Oman-style where you have to take everything with you and then take everything away! >:)
