Ahmed Sir, this is 2nd trip u r arranging to liwa in 2 months time. Pls think of us, I never did camping in desert, it looks sound but not be practical for newbies. Is it possible, you can make two groups i.e one will stay back & other will come back.

The driving distance to the entry point from Dubai is 300+ Kms. and needs about 3+ hours of driving, the exit point near the camping spot is close to 400Kms. It is thus not possible to do the full trip in 1 day.

There is some additional news for this drive…on account of the recent heavy rains which had affected the western region quite severely…Delma recording 80mm rain early on Thursday/Friday and Ghouafat recording 41.4mm of rains on Thursday/ Friday, These figures essentially mean that there was very heavy rainfall in the Western Region the Sabkhas in the area that we intend to drive in are all flooded, and once flooded the water accumulates and turns these Sabkhas into a quagmire and very dangerous to navigate as any stuck vehicle is very difficult to recover.
This trip will thus have to be postponed indefinitely for now.
We will plan another trip as the weather gets better and the areas dry up.
I regret the inconvenience this might have caused, but the weather and it’s repercussions are beyond anybody’s control.
