Can anybody share recent GPS tracks of recent Liwa drives ? I am planning 2 day camping trip there and do not want to enter restricted areas. I heard that the oilfields areas are guarded by police. Tracks i found on wikiloc dated 2006-2010 and much have changed there. I have been ti Liwa last year but we drove only nearby Qasr Al sarab area. This time am determined to drive longer route (aout 100 km).

Hi Ivan, the Qasr AL Sarab area is all fenced off now.
I would advise AGAINST going deeper into Liwa desert personally unless you have a lot of experience leading a convoy. It is a dangerous place with incredibly soft sand and accidents/problems are just waiting to happen. Stay close to the border road would be my suggestion in case you get in to any trouble.
We are planning a fewbie and upwards drive in the coming weeks so stay tuned and would recommend you join that.
