    Hi;

    I have been in dubai for 7 months now. But i just start working and need to buy a car. Before i was driving my father`s Jeep Grand Cherokee and i really love that one. I went few times off road with it, i really enjoyed. I am living in marina and working in Sharjah. I have long highway drive everyday. I am looking for a SUV can fit my daily drive needs and i can go off road with. My budget is low. I am planing to pay 25-30.000AED. I have some cars on my mind but some people said dont buy american cars they are not reliable. Our Jeep done well till now, there were no problem only we did regular services and it is 6 years old car.

    Normally i was thinking to get 2008-2012 Jeep Cherokee 3.7 or 2009-2010 Ford Explorer 4.0. I believe these cars can fit me well. But as i said some people directly said dont buy those. I started to search for some japanese SUV`s and i found 2010 Mitsubishi Pajero 3 door 3.8, 2011-2012 Nissan Xterra(base model), 2007-2010 Nissan Patfinder, 2005-2008 Toyota Prado 4.0.

    So i am really confused. Japanese cars are reliable but mostly, they are not my type. What is your ideas about that?

    if you willing to spend money in garages so go for American cars in the same time you have also Japanese cars which is more popular and reliable over here and easy maintenance with good prices I do recommend Prado or fj both of them running the same engine and mostly 70 % same parts note Prado have 2 edition engine 2.7 and 4.0 go for the biggest

    For now i cant afford for a fj but i can buy a 2005-2008 prado 4.0(for example : https://dubai.dubizzle.com/motors/used-cars/toyota/prado/2017/9/21/toyota-prado-2008-gcc-2/ ) Can i thrust 10 years old Toyota? I am working 6 days of week i dont have time to spent in garages. I know Toyota`s l’ke a rock. But even after 10 years are they still good enough?

    What should be the good deal? Is there any place or any dealer i should check? I have time to find a good car i have no rush, problem is i dont know where should i look.

    If you move to Sharjah, you will save and increase the budget ๐Ÿ™‚
    Offroading in a daily car no matter the brand or age is not cheap.
    The newer the car, the less problems in short term, but still in time due to offroading you will have maintenance and modidications costs.

    I would say a FJ or Prado, I tried all your list of cars in a past and this for me are the best. Comfortable as normal car for daily usage, reliable, lots of spare parts, a lot of modifications, everyone know how to fix them, one of the best cars for offroad, just need a bit of modifications if u will increase level of offroding.
    Good luck with choice!

    Hi again guys. I just got my id and visa tomorrow i will exchange my driving license. Finally i am able to buy a car. In this time i checked many Ford Explorer i really liked that car but everyone(including my mechanic) said same thing. You will broke that car in first off road drive. Seems like cherokee kk is not much reliable, i am passing that one.

    Prado and FJ; I really like the fj but 25-30.000 budget its almost impossible to get clean one. I dont want to buy us spec or more than 200.000km. Prado also expensive and not attractive for me.

    Pajero 3dr 3.5 or 3.8: 3.5 cheap and easy to find but 3.8 better but hard to find one. Not my first choice.

    I am thinking to get 2008-09 pathfiner or xterra. Xterra there are some but hard to find clean one. What do you thing about Pathfinder. This one can fit my budget and i like it.

    I found this one. I am only afraid because i think 2005 very old for this country.

    Yea, this model is perfect for your budget.
    Whatever you buy, remember that offroad its 20% the car and 80% the driver.

    Denis 100% right about “20% the car and 80%”, with small correction from me ๐Ÿ˜€ – depend on level. if its Newbie and fewbie – u good to go with stock, but inter and above need good moods
