Hello DO. I am sorry to say I am now not going to be able to make it out for the Iftar drive. I am having a few mechanical problems.
Have a great drive.
Hello, I am interested in this drive however i see that the drive finish time is 2100 hours. I assume we will not be driving until 2100 hours? I only ask as i do not have any desert lights….
Please excuse my ignorance and lack of knowledge of Ramadan. Thank you.
Hi,
Not a pro on this but honestly speaking you should do a few more drives before deciding to change. I was following you the other day and I feel the problem was that it was just your 1st drive and you were hesitant and were lacking momentum at most of the places you got stuck. It always happens with all of us on first drives. Have some patience and you should do fine. The other day the sand was also very soft as would be case during summer. Anyway, my advice do a few more drives. Understand the car a little more in the sand and decide on the tyres. If u have doubts about the tyres ask one of the Marshals to try out your car in the sand and see if they also struggle in same places where u do. If you have already been advised by one of the Marshals to change the tyres then please ignore this 😀 :))
Thank you. I might be a bit more patient. The main reason for me asking was that one of the marshalls did tell me that my design of tire and tread was wrong for sand anyway and more for rocks.
Your current tyre size is way better than the one you consider shifting to.
What type of tyres do you run? MT, HT, AT?
They are AT. They have a snow symbol on the side and I was told that they are more designed for rocks and therefore do not deflate properly for sand. Also due to the tread pattern when stuck in sand they dig deeper.
Hello. I am new to DO and am really keep for a trip to the desert. I have a radio, flag and compressor.
