Hello Dubai Offroaders members. I have noticed confusion about the operation and the frequencies used in our offroad walkie talkie. As we all know, walkie talkie is essential for communication and safety of the drivers and the passengers on all our drives. I thought, I shall give you a simple walk through of the frequencies used. The walkie talkie that I have is a Quansheng TG-K4AT. I will be attaching the user manuals of Quansheng walkie talkies along with this post as it can be difficult to find these in English. The frequencies used are:

    Channel —– Frequency (MHz)

    1—————- 462.5625
    2—————- 462.5875
    3—————- 462.6125
    4—————- 462.6375
    5—————- 462.6625
    6—————- 462.6875
    7—————- 462.7125
    8—————- 467.5625
    9—————- 467.5875
    10————— 467.6125
    11————— 467.6375
    12————— 467.6625
    13————— 467.6875
    14————— 467.7125

And here are the user manuals of the Quansheng radios. Feel free to upload your manual too. Our users might find that useful too! Please note that these are zip files and you will need winrar to unzip them. If for some reason, you are not able to upload your radios manual, feel free to PM me giving me the link of your operator’s manual and I shall add them here. Corrections or additions to anything I said are most welcome.

    Hi Guys,

I had been to Dragon Mart this weekend in search for a radio. Infact I was very particular for a Motorola Walkie Talkie as recommended by all team members. But Motorola and Siemens brands were not available in the whole Electronic and Communication section of Dragon Mart.

After a long technical discussion with the sales guy, I have ended up in buying ICOM – IC-V87 (VHF/UHF radio). Though I was not sure whether it will be compatible with our group radio, I took a chance by trusting the assurance of the sales guy. Also I could struck a deal with the shop to replace the radio if it is not compatible with the desired network and it costed AED.170/-.

There was a detailed user manual plus handsfree kit. But I couldn’t find a suitable car charger anywhere in dragon mart. As per the sales guy and manual, battery charge remains for minimum 8 hours after a full recharge.

The handset is not having any restrictions (no codes or locked options). Its all open and all you need is a good technical know-how of radio functioning to program it manually.

I could use it during last saturday’s morning drive and I am very much satisfied with its performance in terms coverage, signal strength and sound clarity. You can find the above said stuff at the below shops in Dragon Mart.

Shop No:- BAK 08 – Fujian Futurestar
Shop No:- BAI 05 – Sheng Da Trading

    :thanks: & Regards

I bought a BAOHUI BH-918 for AED180. The lady set the channels for me but it’s really simple to do it on your own as well..

It is UHF and 5W. Said to have a coverage of 15km and full day battery life..

I guess I will test it tomorrow.. ๐Ÿ™‚

    Hi,

I am also looking for Talkie Walkie and I found Motorola “Talkabout MR 350 R” at 690 AED for a pair.
Is it a good choice ?

    If not any recommendation ?
    Thanks
    JP
