Did the mod myself yesterday… it works great… This will allow you to cancel this annoying feature to have more fun on the sand. :drive:

If you’re familiar with the issue, you can still unplug the connector that goes to the brakes reservoir prior to the drive.

Do it at your own risk ๐Ÿ˜‰ …

    Good point Tushar,

You’re right, I m not planning to use it on the fly though, just allows me to avoid the hassle of removing the connector, or cycling the engine for this.

Forgot to add that the switch is indeed factory installed on 2010 FJ models onward as Toyota figured out that it was a bad idea to not give the driver full control of it.

However, even if you use the factory installed switch, the VSC turns back on if you reach a certain speed (40 km/h I guess). For us, that would happen when driving over a sabkha or something.

My FJ is 2008 model, I unfortunately do not have this luxury ๐Ÿ˜•

So I went for the mod to avoid all this hassle … was ruluctant at first to cut that wire … #:-s :-ss

Cool, would love to learn the tricks from you bro.

Currently, I am doing it by removing the connector by switching the engine off ๐Ÿ˜‰

This actually looks okay and will probably remove the annoying handling corrections and the noises…
I too have a 2008 FJ with manual transmission on the way expected in mid July.
