July 31, 2012 at 6:16 pm #18151Drive report – Tawi Nizwa to Pink Rock – Tawi Nizwa
Start time- 5:05 PM
Distance – 18 KMS
End Time – 6:45 PMFor once everyone was on time at the meeting point at Tawi Nizwa with the lead arriving 3 minutes late! As zarir pointed out to me, everyone had Flags and followed convoy discipline brilliantly. The convoy had already deflated, so the drive started on road towards the interchange to get on the sand.
Zarir was the 2nd car with his FJ, followed by Andy, then Tyn, with Rob sweep in charge and additionally our very own offroad guru Thanseer joining us.
Being a small convoy we criss crossed dunes, sidesloping all the way to Pink rock, where the convoy descended to the other side and then each one took turns to climb pink rock. After playing a bit, the convoy decided to find Thanseer who had gone out on his own(maybe the drive was a bit boring) and then again tried their hand at some fune on the slopes. Deciding that we wouldnt want to go back the same way, we took a little offbeat track, and found the largest amounts of bushes we had seen in a long time! Finally arrived on road at 6:45 PM , well before our deadline with no issues along the way.Great driving by Zarir,Tyn and Rob. :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause: Andy was a revelation on this drive, driving on par with the rest , with a lot less drives under his belt – well done! :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause:
Thanks for the fantastic company guys, hope you all had a good drive! See you next time on the sand! :thanks:

There is nothing boring. I was just in my test mission of the new missile.
Really appreciate the improvement of Zarir, Tyn, Andy and Rob. Rob is now driving fearless with the proper approach and departure and calculated driving. Keep up the good works… :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :thanks:
Thanks Gerry for a great drive. I really enjoyed it! Robinson did a rescue worth mentioning with the help of Gerry’s winch. I think Robinson needs no more convincing getting a winch himself now but where is he going to put it? Looking forward doing one more drive before I’m off to France for the remainder of the month! See y’all soon.
