The original/ initial name of Dubai Offroaders when we started was MEOffroaders.
I am glad to announce that ME Offroaders is back, once again with Dubai Offroaders!!!!We are very happy to announce the return of our co-founder, Jessil Alakkal aka Desert Dragon, and the return of his crew members and all the other members of MEOffroaders.
Anil Berry, a very senior offroader and who began his offroading with us is back too! I would like to welcome him, and he will be holding his position as a lead marshal on Dubai Offroaders.
There will be a few restructuring points on Dubai Offroaders.
We have tried to simplify the hierarchical structure to avoid/ minimize any confusion or ambiguities, as well as to avoid any conflicts between the members.
We are going to have three groups only.
A. Beginners/Intermediate.
B. Advanced
C. Marshals.The crew/staff of ME Offroaders will all be incorporated in the Marshals group. None of the members of Dubai Offroaders will be affected. Only stars will be removed. If you were in advanced, you will still be in advanced. 🙂
The official name of Dubai Offroaders has been changed to Dubai / ME Offroaders. So it can be DO or MEO. Both are the same now.http://www.dubaioffroadlive.local and http://www.meoffroaders.com will come to the website you are on!
So all the links that you have saved in your browser’s favorites will remain active, as before.

A big welcome back … Jessil, Anil, Zedy and Abdullah are some of the most experienced offroaders in Dubai… Good friends with a strong family spirit. Always a joy driving with them. DO and ME will just become stronger once again. This needs to be celebrated!

Hi Guys, I don’t know or need to know the history, but anything that makes DO or now DOMEO stronger as a group with the same shared values and objectives :ymhug: ‘Just for Fun’ :drive: and ‘we all go in and we all come out …together’ :thanks: , has my modest vote 😀
Most Delighted moment, we are very pleased to welcome back our former marshals & members, although i dont know anyone personal or met anyone of you guys. Would love to drive with you all and learn a lot from you all experienced.

Certainly the new development is a very good news for all DOs. Now our team is double strong and we will be having the support and guidance of few most experienced professionals in this business :-BD I would prefer now to step down from all kind of drive responsibilities and will focus just to attend good drives to gain valuable knowledge from the seniors :-BD 🙂
Purely on a personal note, I am quite sad on removal of stars 🙁 I was disappointed to notice the profiles without ranking and stars. May be its because, I was very used to the Star Rating System and have been seeing it ever since I joined DO. For me the ranking and stars were an inspiration apart from being a honor and recognition to the good work and contributions. Thereby, used to feel proud of the same, some times 😉 Due to whatsoever reasons known only to the decision makers, it seems the star and ranking system, is now an epoch. All my proud honor and recognition were ripped off in an overnight’s period =((

The only issue that arose is that a lot of our members did not understand this & started treating star rating system as a sort of trophy & a tool for one-upmanship.
This led to a certain unnecessary lobbying & politics by certain members rather than focussing on our core activities of driving, socializing, learning, improving our skills and having fun.
The removal of stars is just an attempt to remove this needless stress from among the ranks while retaining the differentiation between different categories based upon the individual members skills & preparedness.
So…now…Kumar & Thanseer & I are all at the same level!!! and…I am proud to be in this group of Advance Drivers & Marshals!!!

Thanks for that Musbah. I had forgotten to fix that. He is a 12 year old boy, my youngest brother, the one you see in my dad’s car on the drives 🙂
He had joined and I gave him 6 stars. He was super happy. Anyway, now the stars are removed 🙂
