quote zarir:Hi David,
Am sure any of the workshops like Robbie’s, Ramy, Icon, or ARB will be able to get you a switch for the same. I got my switch for the FJ done at Best Line garage (Shibu – 055 8843438).
Cheers
ZarirThanks, I will look him up this Saturday and ask some questions.
quote DVG:I want to disconnect my ABS, which I hope will also disconnect the Stability Control. Pulling a fuse seems to not be a simple as one might think, which can disable the electronic 4×4 system too. I need a clever Auto’ Elec’ that can help with this. ZarirHey David Zarir has sent you the one I sms’d you the details of, which he sent me a couple months back, he is the Garage owner and an off-roader (sand) himself, runs a club called Arabian Offroad Academy.
Very good man to know really genuine bloke who know his stuff & should be able to help you trace what needs to be temporarily immobilised, As I said previously; on the FJC loom under the hood there is a sort of junction box where all the sensors (ABS/Traction control/airbag/etc) come together, we just pull that plug out of circuit at the beginning of a drive and plug it back in when we hit the black top after inflation, the engine needs to be switched off and on …a bit like a system re-boot on computer, The same must exist on the Armada somewhere!!
It’s a small garage..has about 6 mechanics including an electrician plus a couple of paint guys and office wallahs. A fair few offroad types use him! You could always go directly to your family workshops and ask them!! Very easy to find in Sharjah, if you are out and about and going that way you should pop in:
Located opp Sheffield School on Doha Road (Al Qusais). GPS co-ordinates are :
N 25 17.600; E055 23.267

Thanks Brian,
In short, yes, I have something similar under the hood. However, from my research [because there is more than one point for disconnection] it can cause the transfer case and throttle to not work too. I have read online that many have tried simple disconnections but ultimately revert to installing a switch to disable it and done by someone who knows what they’re doing.
