Cresting the dune straight on an off-road track might be a painful job for the driver and the car, but sideways it is very safe and harmless technique

This is the easiest and…in correct/ practised hands the safest way to cross a crest.
Watch how the driver approaches the dune keeping the dune on his left, this allows him an excellent position on the top of the dune, on his LHD vehicle to watch what is beyond the ridge, before he commits to the crest crossing!!!
