You have to do the drive update yourself.
As for the upgrade … this is determined by the marshals based on your driving skills and not on the number of drives you’ve done.
I would tell you to DRIVE FOR FUN , the rest will just happen …Absolutely Correct!!!
quote Cesar Crusat:Hi guys,I have a doubt.
How many trips you have to do to get one star at least?
I did more than 1, 2 and 3 trips but in my profileyou can read Number pf trips: 0.
Do i have to update it by myself?
Cesar, move your pointer to your name on the top RHS of the header bar, there you’ll find a drop down menu, click on user control panel, go to profile tab, half way down the page is a slot for number of drives and at the bottom there is a facility for you to list your drives however you wish.
It is a good idea to keep this up to date as it serves you as a record of your offroad progress and allows the administration to also see what you’ve done, very useful for us in planning safe :drive: s JUST FOR FUN!December 28, 2013 at 6:58 am #28430quote Iqsaan:Hi Cesar ,You have to do the drive update yourself.

Well put Iqsaan and its PRECISELY my point as well.
One should indulge in a passion which gives you the satisfaction, happiness rather than the recognition.
If one should start driving for the possible stars and cubes and squares and badges and colors , then I think the FUN FACTOR could well be lost and it could be detrimental to the objective of off roading itself.
Lets drive , just for fun :yesss: :ymhug: :ymhug:

Whilst I totally agree with the above comments of my two esteemed brothers of the sand, there is an element of motivation about a recognition that comes unforeseen.
Now, I can see my friends immediately saying …”well if one needs motivation then one shouldn’t be there doing it!”. Also true on the surface, self motivation is a quality that brings true personal growth.
However consider the following: In life there are many conflicting demands on a persons time; work -family – friends – passions, it’s not always easy to navigate an equitable passage and still find time for “self”. A person then gets labelled, maybe unfairly, as a wannabe. Recognition of effort/commitment can provide the fillip that is needed for ‘one’ to examine more closely relationships commitments, maybe in the process trimming a few minutes here and there to make room for that ‘self’ space that ultimately leads to a deeper bonding with yourself which is the key to access in many roads we follow in life. Your boss tells you that you’ve performed well, or your partner appreciates a gest, or your children listen to your advice, or a friend says thank you for your support. All these are motivational recognition.
Thus in offroading, umm lets be super specific; in the sand there is a demand for focus(awareness) and commitment, without which you will get stuck or worse, a frustrating experience. Reaching that Zen space where ‘stucks’ become immaterial leads you to the next level where ‘stucks’ become less, because your ability observation and techniques have evolved.
Being awarded a recognition is a statement that, at the moment of the award, someone else has seen a potential in you that for you is latent because you’ve suppressed it to allow all the other influences on your time and resources to take priority. Their being recognised for an act, or skill can act as a release for the persons psyche, allowing them to reorder their priorities to create/reinforce a ‘self’ space promoting further personal growth.
Hunting for recognition is a dodgy path to follow I agree ๐

Hi Mohamed,
You may have noticed that the upcoming Liwa trip is an advanced trip. This means that you need to have at least 3 stars to be eligible to join the trip. For those of us without the three stars we do not have access to the big buttons to join. Same thing for Wahiba sands but this is an intermediate trip for two stars and above. As you progress and build your skills through experience you will earn the necessary stars to be able to then join such trips. This system is for the safety of all of us in the club to ensure that folks are able to handle the more challenging terrain that some of these trips will have.
Don’t fret though, @DuncanField has alluded to a forthcoming Liwa trip for the junior rank and file…we are all waiting anxiously (but no pressure Duncan ๐ )
Many Thanks Matt ๐
Actually i’ve been offroading Dunes /Rocks for almost 11 years on a weekly basis at least 8 months of the year some trips last for 15 days ๐ , its just only am new to the club here ๐ , appreciate if there is some kind of assessment trips that can be done in order to allow fellow old offroader for joining such trips ๐ , if not applicable and against club rules I’d totally understand it ๐
Thanks again Matt ๐ , n @DuncanField … announce the trip as i can see some are waiting ๐ ๐
January 28, 2016 at 1:05 pm #34834I didn’t notice that such options exist :))
