Mine is a 65 ltr tank… should i be carrying extra fuel?

    March 6, 2016 at 8:04 pm #35228

    better safe than sorry guys!
extra fuel is always a good idea on long trips like this…. and if not for yourself, there might be someone else in need!

ill be carrying a 20L jerry can in addition to the small 70L tank on my car, and most probably i will need it all ๐Ÿ˜‰

    peace

    Thanks Jo ๐Ÿ™‚
Which FUEL TANK is better for hot countries? Plastic one with adjustable funnel? May be steel or aluminium? in my last experience i had 20L fuel tanks of different type, has issue with leaking, if it’s hot and its outside, start leaking with pressure through the filler neck! which make some smell.
I might think wrong about that and brand new tank will not have an issue)
    Thanks

    Wow, a full day trip!

    March 7, 2016 at 7:54 am #35233

i prefer plastic as they are lighter and easier to carry around. might also be cheaper!
any good quality jerry can should not leak even with hotter temps and expansion!
however it is always preferred to have the tanks mounted/carried outside the vehicle to avoid breathing any fumes that might leak and of course, to avoid accidental in-car leakage and fire…

This is near Al Razeen prison, where all the seriously bad people life and is recognised as the ‘darkest’ place in the UAE (no light pollution at all)!!! If you are into star trails and galaxy photography then its a great place to be with some great dunes.

Drove there before and loved it although its a drive and a half to get there.
