Drive Type : NEWBIE,FEWBIE,INTER DRIVE , 2/3 separate Convoys, depending on the total number of registrations.Meeting Point: Al Faqaa West

Drive Terrain: soft & tricky dunesChecklist:-
a) Ensure your 4 x 4 vehicle is in perfect condition and with enough fuel.
b) Carry an auto air compressor with you and ensure it’s in working condition.
b) Compatible Radio is mandatory
c) Carry all necessary offroad gears, in good condition.
d) Carry enough water / refreshments / re-hydration drinks for self & co-passenger(s).
e) Please ensure that your vehicle’s Fuel Tank is full
f)Make sure that your spare tyre is in workable condition.

The drive on Friday saw a full house in the scorching Al Faqa desert! #:-s I believe we had around 25 cars in total 😮 . Aiming for a 4:30 departure, we split into two convoys: newbie and fewbee/inter. Joe and led the fewbee/inter convoy with Denis and John support/sweeping. I had the honor to lead the newbie convoy with Asem supporting as second lead and Phil as sweeper.
The newbie convoy had mainly first-timers with DO and first/second-timers in the sand. So we took extra time and care in our briefing to ensure everyone was comfortable and understood what to expect. :-w Once we pushed off, we drove on the farm tracks a bit in order to get out in the clearing of the dunes. We were in an area that had quite tight and technical dunes. :drive: They were close together, odd shaped, and many valleys and bowls. To add to the excitement, the sand was super soft, like a nice bowl of soup, :-ss from the sun’s high 40C temps. This posed a few challenges for the convoy as we weaved our way through and required several recoveries. As we carried on, the convoy found its groove and the rhythm picked up. :yesss: Towards the end of the drive everyone was doing great and enjoying the trip. As the sun was setting, we decided to exit before darkness set. We finished the drive by 7:30. (-|

Hi fellows
Another portion of experience, I’m sure all of us understand reality of off-road and your responsibilities like a drivers to be safe.
Feel sorry about Greg situation and thanks God we could find at the and another car which left long water leak.
I proud of DO Marshals and DO Members that in any situation we can find a way how to manage it and react imidiatly!
This is what make me feel safe, discover new places with y guys :ymhug:
My first try to go after big cars at the end, its other story :ymdevil: than to be at the middle!
