Great drive today in intermediate convoy with Duncan’s lead and Avinash’s sweep. Few second attempts and recoveries along the way which was almost 50km long from al Faqaa to Badayer.
Really enjoyed after 2 months break from DO, was a bit rusty at the start but later got better – car was just perfect all way long.

Now I understand why Duncan is the King of the ridges.

See you guys next week probably, be safe

Great drive yesterday. Had a fantastic convoy who all drove exceptionally well. This allowed us to complete the Al Faquaa to Rowdah doing all the fun stuff along the way. :thanks:

Many thanks to Asim for my second lead, great job and driving keeping everyone on my track.

Thanks Avi as always for sweeping. Minimum recoveries and great control from the back.

Was a lot of fun being back after an extended lay off during summer.

See you all in a few weeks. :ymparty:

Thank’you Duncan for’your leading us on those ridges and bowls! :thanks:

After a 2 months break, it was a real joy! πŸ˜€

For quite a long convoy, we managed to keep a good pace and had spare time to do crazy climbs πŸ™‚

The only few recoveries where managed efficiently, the sweeper did an excellent job! :YMAPPLAUSE: :YMAPPLAUSE:

    See you soon!

Thanks @chughtai for leading the convoy, it was my first drive with you :drive: and thanks to @duli too for sweeping and making sure everyone drives safe and on track. Our lineup was pretty well with FJ’s in the front and BIG boys at the back πŸ˜€

We started of with an FJ stuck which managed to do a self recovery while seeing @DuncanField convoy aka GhostRiders flying past us on the ridges :ymapplause:

We had a few stuck’s which slowed down our pace a bit but Faheem managed to lead us to Badayer by sunset.

Just about 2 KM from the exit we found @Ankit in misery with his Jeep broken down. Some of the lug nuts broke off from the wheel and one was stubbornly stuck with a lug. It was the wheel spacer which has to be removed. Luckily I had all the necessary tools and managed to loosen the lug nut and eventually cutting the spacer lug itself. It took just more than an hour to fix the car. Thanks @Rocklad for your mighty strength using the chain cutter :ymapplause: and @Avinash Sudheer for staying back and leading us back to the main road.

Thank you everyone in the Fewbee convoy :thanks:

    Peace!

Better late than never. It was a really busy week at work & home thus was not able to write a report and thank the members who helped me a lot when my car broke down during the end of the drive.

First of all Thanks @DuncanField for a fantastic drive. After a break of 2 weeks from DO drives this was much needed. The route from Al Faqa to Badayyer is one of my favorite as it covers medium to high dunes with lot of ridges to ride 😑 and almost all play areas to enjoy :drive: .

As mentioned by @paskalr1 in the earlier post, at the end of the drive my Jeep had an issue with the spacer and was immobile.
I want to specially thank @paskalr1 @Rocklad (and his passenger) @Avinash Sudheer @YKhalifa and all other members from Fewbie convoy who came for help :thanks: :ymapplause: .

At the beginning we thought the problem is small and thus we radio @DuncanField and rest of the convoy to carry on. But by the time we assessed the actual problem (that a lug nut is badly stuck and without removing it we cannot even change the tyre), it was too late to ask help from our convoy. It started to become dark and we were running out of ideas :-ss . Luckily @chughtai saw us while exiting and came with his full convoy for the rescue. It was a big relief to see so many members coming for help. After explaining the situation to them @paskalr1 came forward with his mighty truck which was fully equipped with all kind of tools to counter any rescue situation. After some time when @chughtai was convinced that @paskalr1 and the other members from intermediate convoy can handle the situation he decided to take his convoy out as it was getting late for everyone. After which with help of everyone finally after 1 hour of struggle we were able remove the spacer, get the tyre on and drive out safely #:-s .

I really appreciate everyone efforts and phone calls people did to check I am fine. I feel lucky to be part of the group who don’t leave anyone behind :ymhug: .
