    Day and date: Friday, March 24, 2017
    Drive Type: expedition thru sand
    Meeting Point: shall be given to confirmed participants closer to the event date
    Google maps users (just copy and paste in Google maps):
    GPS users:
    Meeting Time: 0800 hrs
    Drive Start: 0830 hrs
    Drive End: Saturday, March 25, 2017, 1400 hrs
    Duration: 2 days
    Drive Route: various sections around Hameem, a part of the Empty Quarter, the largest sand desert in the world
    Drive Terrain: Sand, Sand and Sand B-)

    Checklist:
    a) Keep your emergency contact info at vehicle dashboard.
    b) Carry air compressor with you and ensure it’s in working condition.
    c) Ensure your 4×4 vehicle is in perfect condition and with enough fuel.
    d) Compatible Radio is a must.
    e) Carry all necessary off-road gear / recovery equipment in good working condition.
    f) Carry enough water / refreshments / re-hydration drinks for self & co-passenger(s).

    I checked in Liwa area and its looks like we have mid cloudy weather, looks perfect!
    Question to marshals who organise this trip, would be good to have a meeting point, camping coordinates and route with most comfortable exits for second day!

    Hi everyone who registered for this event.

    we are keeping a watch on the weather conditions unfolding. It appears that clouds are planning to give us a good cover. Fingers crossed with a hope that these clouds don’t turn too bad or too wet for us to review the trip plan. Anyway, weather permitting, the following is plan.

    Meeting point: ADNOC on the AbuDhabi-Hameem road. while driving on E11 from Dubai/AbuDhabi, follow directions to Al Ghuwaifat. Turrn left towards Hameem at the exit 306 and keep drive about 65 kms till you find an ADNOC on your left side. the google map link is given below.

    Meeting time: March 24, 2017 @ 8.30am, please plan for a minimum driving time of 2-3 hours depending upon where you start from in Dubai or Sharjah.

    Drive starts: 9.00am.

    please complete all your shopping wash room visits 😉 and fill up the gas before the drive start time. Please do not air down the tyres at the gas station. we will do it later at the sand entry point.

    REQUIREMENTS :

    MUST gear for all :

    1. tow rope – rated for the atleast twice the all-up weight of your car and the driver 😉
    2. minimum 3 rated (as above) D-shackles, soft shackles preferred
    3. tyre pressure gauge
    4. tyre repair kit
    5. compatible radio
    6. complete set of car jack and the related tool kit
    7. tyre inflation compressor
    8. strong tyre jacking board
    9. WD-40
    10. sufficient bungee cords / ratchet straps to tie down all your gear

    OTHER gear :
    A. sufficient FnB arrangement for you and your passengers, Friday Lunch, Dinner and Breakfast for Saturday. we have a possibility of stopping by a road-side restaurant on Saturday morning, however, it’s advisable to come prepared just in case…
    B. minimum one 20L fuel jerry can for cars with one tank. Wranglers advised to carry 2 jerry cans
    C. all the camping gear. please remember to carry a warm jacket and cap for the night
    D. minimum one bundle of firewood per car
    E. sufficient wash water.
    F. plenty of trash bags, so that we can bring all our trash back with us.

    Plan for the trip.

    Friday: Drive thru the day, terrain expected – Sand dunes and tracks
    Camp out on Friday night
    Saturday: drive from Morning 8am or so till about Noon time
    Drive back …..
