I can test out my new tyre carrier!AnonymousMay 8, 2017 at 5:14 pm #39026I was missing the early wake up last Friday… no I can have my fix again
We started our drive from a different entry point a few KM back from the Faqa turn off and headed west.
Most of the trip was spent zigzagging along the long lines of dunes that Faqa is well know for. This allowed ample opportunity for some exciting side sloping fun. We crossed a few areas of tight technical dunes which proved challenging for some but allowed them to learn about the angles of entry, momentum and not fighting gravity. An important lesson to learn is that the outcome of conquering an obstacle is almost always decided in the approach to the obstacle not once you’re on it.
We exited onto the E14.
GrandDubai (Stewart) proved an observant and careful second lead who smoothed out my lead as required.
Well done to Eric and Neil who both enjoyed the challenge of the new level after their recent upgrade.
And many thanks to Alex who proved himself an excellent sweep ensuring everyone’s safety, your words of encouragement and direction kept the convoy running smoothly.
