    LIWA Moreeb Dune Festival 2019

The nine day festival attracts the region’s most powerful four wheel drives and bikers to face exciting challenges including cars drag race, bikes race, motocross track challenge, camel race, horse race, classic cars competition and Moreeb track for freestyle drifting.

The highlight feature of the festival is the adventurous race to the top of one of the world’s highest sand hills – the Moreeb Dune, which means ‘Terrifying Mountain’. At over 300m high and with a 50° angle, the dune will be contested over various categories for different car and bike types.

Join Dubai Offroaders on this unforgettable 2-day trip which will start on Friday morning and finish on Saturday afternoon.

More details can be found below:

Drive type: Fewbie / Intermediate / Advanced
Date & Time: Friday, January 4th to Saturday 5th.
Meeting point (for all members): Adnoc gas station at Taraq: https://goo.gl/maps/UxWjd9yXqA32
Closest supermarket: Al Dhafra Co-op: https://goo.gl/maps/Xh5LGbhXLqq

Meeting time: January 4th at 10 AM
    Drive start: 10:15 AM
    Drive end: Saturday at 3PM

Below is a rough itinerary (to be finalized as we get closer to the event date):

    Friday 4th:
Meeting at gas station and fueling up.
Drive to Entry Point (deflating, convoy allocation, briefing…)
Start drive inside Liwa, heading towards Moreeb Dune.
Setup camp a few kms away from Moreeb Dune – aiming for all convoys to camp in the same spot
Easy sunset drive to Moreeb Dune (10-15 mins drive) / watch the show from a secure location
Head back to camp at night

    Saturday 5th:
Wake up at sunrise (7am) and pack up
    Drive starts at 8AM
Lunch break in the desert at around noon time
Exit at Al Khis at 3PM

    Notes:
    – Your car needs to be in perfect condition. Take it for a safety sanity check before you hit the road.
    – Carry all required equipments (radio, flag, compressor, recovery rope, shackles, deflator, pressure gauge…)
    – Bring all the required food, equipment, wood, lighting, sleeping bags, bbq items…
    – Carry extra fuel. 60 liters would put you in the safe spot. We will not stop by any gas station to refill within both days.
    – It is not recommended to bring kids under 16 years old.
    – Since the area will be very crowded, we insist that you maintain discipline and respect the Marshalls’ advices.

This event happens once a year. We look forward to making the best out of it with everyone!

    Thanks Asem,
I’m sure it’s gonna be a fantastic weekend like usual.
I’m wondering if it can be a good idea to have Whatsapp group, so we can all keep in tuch.
Then we might use that to share photos an videos.
