Drive Terrain: Sand dunes, wide picturesque sabkhas with a chance of spotting sand gazelles on the way
CHECKLIST:
1. Your emergency contact info must be available at Dubai Offroaders website.
2. Ensure your 4×4 vehicle is in perfect condition and with full fuel tank at the meeting point.
3. Carry all necessary offroad gears/recovery equipment in good condition.
4. Carry enough water/refreshments/re-hydration drinks for yourself & co-passenger(s).
5. Make sure that your spare tyre is in workable condition.
6. Your vehicle must have front and rear tow points.
7. Seat belt must be on while driving including passenger(s).
8. Read your vehicle owners manual to be acquainted with the 4WD system.
9. Radio (tuned to frequencies used by DO)

I am very excited to be joining my first drive with you guys on Friday 16th. One thing only is that I am missing the flag from the required equipment. Still looking to buy one. Is it ok to join without it this time? Please advise. Thanks

Hello Kekx,
We’re also very excited that you’re coming with us for your first trip.
Do try and get a flag as it is imperative to have a flag for safety reasons.
If you’re absolutely unable to get it tomorrow, then as you will join the Dubai – Al Ain road, there will be an Enoc which will come on the right hand side. That Enoc has flags kept for sale near the fuel pumps. You can buy a flag there.

I will like to join but have no rear tow point is it OK

It shows in your profile that you have a Xterra 2011. Could you please check your tow hook again?
Without a rear tow hook, it will be a problem to pull you out safely in case you get stuck. I am afraid we’ll not be able to allow you if you don’t have a rear tow hook.

Hi Guys, looking forward to joining for my first drive as a newbie. Only need to pick up radio tomorrow morning can you recommend make, model and shop I could pick up a suitable one please?

i’m also looking for a radio since this will be my first trip. Awaiting your suggestions so that i can pick up the radio today.
A tuned radio is vital for safe off-roading. You can buy one from dragon Mart. Crony, Motorola are some brands used. Some shops will tune the frequencies. Be familiar on usage. Please refer to Technical articles and reviews, Offroad walkie talkie faq for details. See you all tomorrow.

It was an awesome Newbie drive today. Thanks to the leaders, Marshals and everyone – it was nice to drive with you all.

Yeah, videos can be shared using the DO YouTube gallery and pictures can be shared using the DO Media Gallery.
