Has anyone recently visited Jebel Akhdar? Any sort of info?

I was there about one year back in the summer time…
It’s a nice place.. but I’m not sure whether they will let you camp over there on top of the mountain since some JEBEL’S (Onami nationals) staying over there in that area.very few people and no roads until 2 years ago. Up until then there was no tarmac road to the top due to the military having a camp up there and so it was very restricted access. Even today you will need to show your driving licence at the check point where the Military will permit 4 X 4 vehicles only. This is due to the steepness of the road and the effects on your clutch. There are no exceptions to this rule.
The drive is nice.. fully tarmac .. no dirt tracks.. when we reach the top during the peak summer the temperature was 17 degree about 2.00PM.. altitude is about 2200 metres
