Intermediate Drive to RAK on 3rd April ‘2009.

In view of the cancellation of the Oman & Wadi trips for this weekend & to take advantage of the beautiful weather…
Let’s go for a long drive in certain Challenging sections of the desert in Ajman/ Falaj Al Moalla/ Digdaga/ Ghail to come out near the RAK Airport.
Certain sections of the drive are challenging…but the scenery is beautiful…
with some areas turning the desert into lush green parks after the rains…Some of our Senior members may recall the Siesmo track that is part of this drive.
When 3rd April ‘2009 @ 0930Hrs.
Where Meeting point is at the Cultural Monument Parking on Shj. Dhaid Road.
We should be able to finish the drive in six hours & be out on the tarmac by 1600Hrs.Please carry Lunch & sufficient water for self & Passengers.

Could we start this early (say by 7 max) to finish early (by Jumma prayer). If so I’m in.

The track route sounds nice. If you can adjust the timings for a little earlier, you can expect myself,Shahzad and Dino. Or else, keep the same timings and we can sign out bit earlier . :-\
Roshan, There are several points along the route where one may be able to opt out, on to tarmac, so that is always an option.
Adeel Bhai…there are several mosques along the route, where We could get the Juma’a prayers, there may be a number of participants who are not early risers…esp. on a Friday!!!

Got under the weather. I’m tentatively in and would see the situation after getting up in the morning…..dont want to miss this one as I’ve yet to explored this area.

Will this trip lead to the RAK wadis too? Luking forward for this drive.
Shahzad may not get his vehicle coz his vehicle tends to heat up under long tedious drives. We’ll decide over the meeting point.

Is this drive through the wadi’s or through desert. just asking cuz i read there are still flood waters in wadi in RAK.Also where exactly is the meeting point in sharjah ?there is an outside chance i might make it.
This drive is all Dunes…
NO wadis…some beautiful wooded areas too…
