I Humbly Request everyone whoever post the Drive Be on time or before if possible so the drives can start on time. It is very annoying to wait for people at meeting point for an hour or sometime even more. I’m not saying this for particularly one person this is what happen in most of our drives so please do not take this personally.
A very valid point Anil Bhai. Many people avoid going with such groups who do not meet their commitments in terms of punctuality. It is highly unfair with people who reach the meeting point, either in time or even before, for a trip and then they wait for the rest of the group to come up with excuses for reaching late. Many instances, I found out that people start their drive from home or work when they receive a call from the party already reached the meeting point. Again nothing personal to anyone but this has become and inherent feature of this country unfortunately. We can make a difference by changing this norm. Thanks.
February 7, 2010 at 7:56 am #12549Valid Point Anil Bhai,
One person getting late & spoiling everybody’s fun is not legitimate. In fact this was the reason I was not able to join you this past Friday as I was late & decided to drop the drive rather than hold everybody up.
Then again, It is the trip leader’s responsibility to ensure that the schedules are adhered to & the participants are not inconvenienced.
quote humsafar:A very Valid Pointand I agree with it.
but then once in many months, chalta hai yaar. 🙂
It good to know humsafar that you agree with it. People will stop coming for our drives if we carryon with “chalta hai yaar” attitude. Most of the new people are very excited before and during the drive we need to keep that in mind by “chalta hai yaar” attitude we will certainly put them off. And there is list of regular offroaders who discuss almost before every drive what to do,
” live the people behind who are late or wait for them”

We are not running a Military School here, This is an entertainment club,
I do agree and I always advocate of Punctuality of time, and I am the one who is among the first few to reach at any meeting Points 😀
Still I feel a grace margin of 15-30 minutes is not unreasonable at all. We all are grown up and should understand that grace margin doesn’t mean the meeting time it is to cover up some unplanned delays due to unexpected interruptions.

Ali Bhai,
don’t take this personally. The Request was made to all. And for your Information I’m not running this club or “Military School” as u say. This was a congenial Request to all. Why you are getting so upset about it?I think this thread has been started with a very positive intent and rightly so, as this may cause nuisance for people who are punctual. This is a group of people/friends trying to organize things properly and there is nothing wrong with it.
Ali, U r right that u r one of the most punctual ones out there. Therefore you may be able to understand the frustration if the rest of the group shows up an hour late and u r just cleaning ur car at the gas station or having a cup of coffee. Once in a while that should be alright but for each drive it wont.
Cheers.
I can’t remember when we had the last drive, which stated on time. And it very disappointing when person like Ali Adnan shows up late or says “chalta hai yaar” because he is one among us if he get one person to drive along he goes for the drive no matter if it’s day or night.
Well I’m surprised…………….quote anilberry:I can’t remember when we had the last drive, which stated on time. Well I’m surprised…………….Anil bhai you Got “CHalta hai yaar” and graved it in ur mind, but did not see the words before that
I did say “Once in a while or once in many months”Any how I have told u the reason, which is a genuine one. and to Ask Maulana to finish the Jumma prayers earlier is not in my hand. by the way you were also late to reach the meeting place, later then the set time.
Can u also explain what u meant by the last sentences of your above comments. 😕
February 7, 2010 at 5:14 pm #12561A valid point has been raised by Anil & we all agree, so let it be.
The core issue is that a certain discipline has to be inculcated in the members for the betterment of everybody.
It does not matter who was the individual,
What matters is that a certain positive trait has to be observed & re-enforced.End Of Discussion, please.
Once in a while or many months OR Once every time OR Once every few times a mistake is a mistake and we should not personally pick on each other at all.
Rather keep it simple that we all shall follow timings and specially the trip leaders along with the senior members participating in that trip so as to assist new members and help out the trip leader if any required. Please stop this childish behaviour from all corners and Yes its not a military school but puntuallity has nothing to do with a military school only its a LIFE STYLE my friends!
:thanks:
