    Long Drive & Family outing to Al Ain Wildlife Park & Resort on 26th of March 2010.

    Located at the foot of Jebel Hafeet, this 400 hectare wildlife park has one of the largest animal collections of both local and exotic species.
    Conditions for the animals are very modern and some of the highlights include gazelle and Arabian Oryx in large numbers and giant tortoises.

    The zoo is open daily 09:00 – 20:00 Hrs. on Friday
    The reptile house is open 16:00 – 20:00, and there is a bird show which starts at 18:30. Entrance is Dhs.15 for adults, Dhs.5 for children and it’s free for those under 6 years.
    Within the zoo there is a free train which transports visitors around.

    The White lions of Sambona are among the world’s unique Animals, so let’s go & say hello to them.
    An added attraction is the Dinosaur Trail which has life size ferocious Dinosaur replicas.

    Meeting Point Emarat Petrol pump at Al-Rawda,
    This is approx. 10Kms. ahead of the outlet mall on Dubai Al’Ain Highway.

    Meeting Time 1445Hrs. for a 1500Hrs. departure.

    Please carry sufficient drinks & snacks along, we may drop by into Al’Ain City on the way back for Dinner depending on common consensus.

    It was a kid’s day out…

    It was essentially Tatyana with her son & I with Rifaat with 2 of his friends, in 2 cars.

    The Lions are amazing…I was under the impression that these are just Albinos but even their behavior is different.
    They are more active with a leaner, less muscular body & the Male has a lighter almost white mane.

    We proceeded to Jebel Hafeet after the Zoo & had surprisingly good grilled food at the Restaurant at the top while enjoying the glittering views, a cool breeze and some Pakhtoon music drifting in….

    Sridhar kept on missing us from the meeting point to the Zoo to Jebel Hafeet….
    but I did not miss his company terribly on this occasion πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€
