Me and couple of friends were arguing that day that some gas staions Gas gives better milage, so we made a challenge, me and my frnd we own the same PRADO 2007 with the same mods and all, i filled my car from EPPCO in sharja and i got an average of 18.2L/100km based on the car computer, for his car he filled from Emirates in Dubai and the shocking part is that he got 16.1L/100km, we reveresed the way so he filled in eppco and i filled in Emirates we got the same results my car became 16.2L/100km , his Car got to 18.4L/100km. so im wondering anyone faced such a thing???

That’s a very valid point, unfortunately it is true, Emarat & ADNOC consistently give better milage than Eppco/ Enoc, I am not really able to decipher the reason for this discrepancy, except perhaps something to do with certain additives or the quality of the fuel

But Ahmed, what Ziad is saying is that Eppco gave him better mileage, you are saying Emarat have better efficiency

yamout wake up dude, emirates gave better milage… !! u need to change your coffe type (ur getting class F coffe)

See…Ziad got you before I did :bounce:
It’s either the coffee or you are working too hard or your girlfriend is giving you trouble :point:
What Ziad is saying is Eppco gives him approx.5.5kms/ litre while Emarat gets him 6.2/litre…that’s like a 10-12% difference, depending on your base figures…stumps me really ๐Ÿ˜• …
I always try & fill up at Emarat, my Merc.E-240 gives me 12.5l/100kms…which is approx. 8kms/litre…
I do not even want to know the Jeep figures

I donno about emirates but Adnoc gives way more power and a lot better mileage than Eppco or Enoc…

Emirates I don’t fillup a lot from coz they are never on my way :-\

I keep track of mileage almost religiously.
    :-B :drive: :-B :o)

    Correct!!!
Adnoc consistently gives better mileage for some unexplained reason…unfortunately we do not have Adnoc stations in Dubai :-w

Try E+ from ADNOC on your car & compare with other petrol brands (special, super…etc) E+ is having less price & more mileage..

๐Ÿ˜ฎ Wow to say I’m shocked is but the tip of the iceberg, If the same product is substantially different in quality and thus performance then shouldn’t ‘somebody’ ask questions of ‘someone’?

Is there no standard performance check done on fuels around the emirates?

Do the brands have a totally different supply chain?

Is it a general thing or only relative to certain fuel station of each brand? Don’t the brands cross sell to each other and thus the stuff is the same …or almost?

Diluting the fuel based on its octane content…That’s business & profit. Some companies make good quality products, Some not, And its not controlled or regulated. Similar to the product price, Car in Dubai will coast more & if you go to moan importers in sharjah a 5-10K 10K can be saved (Cost & dealer commissions)… Again no regulation or control (even manufactured don’t know the final selling price as its all in the hands of dealer (as per one big dealer) :ymdevil:

There must be a standard for Octane rating that can’t be changed, selling 95ovtance at less is fraud and a criminal offence so I don’t think it can be dilution, maybe additives.

David I’m not sure that a parallel can be drawn between vehicle manufacture and hydrocarbon production and distribution. I have seen Emarat road tankers in Eppco filling stations, so I think probably that like airlines the supply chain management has crossovers and pay backs. It’s an interesting conundrum and one that’s worth some research. …. ๐Ÿ˜•
