quote thomasinasu:Hello DO, i had just discovered your website yesterday afternoon and here’s my gratitude after my first drive this morning.
What a day this has been, fantastic weather, great company and a well organized drive. Got to thank Kumar and Tushar for accommodating my request over the phone even before my DO login was activated.
Tanseer and Amjad for leading our convoy through some great workout drives, the newbee clan that i had for company and the great outdoors.
Thank you
TomWelcome to Dubai Offroaders!!! and indeed it was our pleasure to have Thomas for today’s drive 🙂
Look forward to drive many more with you :drive: :drive: :drive:quote GKumar:Beautiful winter morning and an awesome weather for offroad adventure!!! :-BDIt was a very good gathering of more than 20 cars at Tawi Nazwa and lot of new faces :-BD 🙂 Few scheduled members for this drive couldn’t make up to the meeting point in time and there were few surprise turn ups as well. Accordingly we made few quick convoy changes and by sharp 8.30am Khalil departed with the intermediate convoy to explore Area 53 and the 2 newbee convoys proceed together to the deflation point for Pink Rock.
After a detailed newbee drive briefing and technical demonstration by Thanseer the newbee convoys were split into two. Convoy 1 was led by Thanseer with Amjed at sweep and Convoy 2 with myself at lead and Gerry at sweep and both convoys were supposed to meet at Pink Rock.
Brian, Minaz, Aymen, Dhaval, Ajay, Gerry and myself were the second convoy. We took the safe and easy newbee route to pink rock. All cars reached the common meeting point at Pink Rock easily except Dhaval and Ajay in LWB Pajero, literally struggling to manage the high dunes near to pink rock. Both me and Gerry were at real task to get both cars safely out of the bowl area and to join the waiting cars of both convoys at the common meeting point. No worries, it all part of the learning process and we really appreciate both of you guys for remaining cool and for not trying anything stupid creating safety concerns :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause: I hope now with the expert advises of our marshals, you guys understood your toys better :-BD 🙂 Thanking all other members for the patience to wait for us to regroup.
Return drive was having good momentum and everybody managed the dunes with greater confidence and skill – all experience and confidence gained during the onward drive came to use for the return drive to Tawi ;;) 🙂 We reached first at Tawi Nazwa followed by Thanseer’s convoy. Was really happy to see all smiling faces 🙂 Confirmed the intermediate convoy finished the drive successfully at Badayer, inflated and headed home having the entire half day in hand for family requirements :-BD :-BD :-BD
Geerrryyyyy!!! you are the man of the day :ymhug: :ymhug: :ymhug: Hats off to you buddy for the untiring support and tips to the learning colleagues :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause: I am always at comfort and relaxed, whenever you are my partner in the convoy 😉 :ymblushing:
I think Mr. & Mrs.Brian had a good competition among themselves to prove who is a better driver…. 😀 Both of you did a very good job :ymapplause: Minaz and Aymen were really driving good, controlled driving. Very happy for you Minaz for having your first accident free offroad drive with us 😉 I have noticed both Dhaval and Ajay managing their machines in a much better way during the last phase of the drive, good job guys, keep it up :-BD.
Next weekend many of us will be away for Gulf News Fun Drive, however see you all very soon again in sands 🙂 🙂 🙂 :drive: :drive: :drive:

It was a good challenge for everyone…It seems like our expert Marshal was testing everyone’s abilities 🙂
It’s nice following as second lead…enjoyed it.
Look forward driving more following you :thanks: :thanks:
Thanks Musbah, Asharaf, Mahan for the great company…Thanks Khalil for the wonderful “take to me to the peak drive” :drive:
Dear Kumar, many thanks for the great lead, the nice drive and for accepting us joining at the very last moment, I was so comfortable even with all family members on board and really enjoyed the drive (especially the back to Tawi Nazwa route), look forward for more similar drives 😀
Also thanks to the rest of the group for the great company.January 5, 2013 at 3:59 am #21353Gr8 job by everyone in the convoy. I could see very good future offroaders in everyone in the convoy. As I said , getting stuck is part of the learning process and everyone of us has had the support of marshals to get us to where we are today, so no worries about getting stuck!
Kumar as always, a very safe and nice track taken, with just a hint of adventure for the newbies! Always great to support one of the best DO lead marshals who also happens to be the person who taught ( and still does) me to lead!
See you all next week!
I had great time during this drive, it was my 4th drive which was well leaded by Mr. Kumar, once vehicle was stuck on the ridge and was winched out by Gerald and Kumar. Sweeping was excellent by Gerald. Mr. Thanseer advised and corrected wrong gear selection that was making vehicle losse the power while climbing the steep dunes. Thanks you all and looking for next drives.
Dhaval
It was my First and a very memorable drive in the desert Thanks to Dubai Off Roaders who made it soo much Fun.
Sincere thanks to Thanseer for organizing things very smoothly, and a very special thanks to Kumar and Gerry you guys were very patient, helping and great fun.
I was a little nervous initially as it was my first ride but I must say you guys helped to stay calm and shared some great knowledge on off roading.
Also thank you Ayman for sharing your radio on way back it surely helped in big way as I felt more in control.
It was a pleasure to meet a lot of new people and all in all a day very well spent with great fun.
Cheers
