don’t forget to register for the tripHi @sebastien, you can follow this post http://www.dubaioffroadlive.local/forums/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=1454, to get the list of frequencies we use in our club. If you can program them in ur radio then its compatible.
As the meeting point in very far and it will be very disappointing if you have to discontinue the trip. So I would suggest to check it before coming.quote Sebastien:Hello all,We are really looking forward to discover the UAE, so thank you for organizing this trip. I would just have 1 question: I have radios, any way we could test them before the trip to see if they are compatible?
Sebastien
Dear Sebastien,
Welcome to DO. Regarding your question, there are radios where you cannot set frequencies on, and they come with predefined frequencies in the form of “number” example 1 to 99. The radios we use must have the option that the user can set the frequency manually. There s a list of frequencies that we at DO always use during our trips. that we call channels. The list of channels and corresponding frequencies can be found on this link http://www.dubaioffroadlive.local/forums/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=1454
If you can pre-program your radio with these frequencies, or you have the ability to manually set the frequency that will be used prior to every drive, you should be o.k. You will be able to test your radio Friday, but like I said if you can preset frequencies on it. If you cannot preset frequencies, then I expect the radio not to be compatible, hence you wont be able to communicate with the Marshals nor the rest of the convoy. Let me know if you need any further clarifications. If you are still not sure, feel free to whatsapp me a snapshot of your radio screen (turned on off course) on 0551516492 and I can tell you if it will work or not.
Cheers, and looking forward to meeting you on Friday.
Sam.

Thank you for this,
Will send you a picture of the radios but I have a feeling they will not be compatible. since I am new, is there any other shops then dragon mart where I can buy a radio? and what model is the most used? (I’d rather buy a new one that way I will be set for sure and won’t do the drive for nothing)Sebastien
