    Hi Greg.
Compressor is not mandatory for this drive but better to have in future drives.
There is a petrol station in badayer and even the shops in badayer dawn inflate the tires for u.
Always better to carry a compressor incase of a pop out and to be independent.

Mandatory items for this drive are radio and flag.

Hi All, we had a relaxed :drive: today from Badayer to Pink Rock and 2nd December coffee, covering 25 kms in total. Couple of newbies joined the convoy so we had few stucks and second attempts but everybody reached the finish safe and in one piece.
Thanks to @Ajay and @Duli for the lead and sweep, Duli’s rig came handy several times. :thanks:

Hope to have another early morning drive before end of the year; until that be safe

we had a nice and exciting trip which sae 15 cars, most of them newbies, inspite of the short notice for the trip

In fact, the excitement started even before we had deflated. it was about 0630 hrs while on my way to the meeting point, when i stopped at one of the Tavi Nazwa shops to pick up some stuff for the day. It was here, two people approached me and requested for help in recovering their car stuck some 3 km into the sands. They were waiting at the shop since 3 am but no one heeded to their request. I told them about our drive and that the group was waiting close by for a start. I therefore retested them to join me to the meeting point from where we could go in their direction, which they happily agreed to.

Once the usual pre-trip briefing was done, we turned away to the south side of E44 to look for the stuck Fortuner on the basis of the rough location our guests had stored on their phone. once we reached the car, it was found on a side slope and badly stuck in sand since last night. While there was a logical temptation to put a rope and pull it out, we decided to demonstrate to thé newbies, the power of shoveling and gentle manual push. We did both and the car jumped out of its position like a feather.

we then proceeded towards our original destination, i.e. Pick Rocks. the drive was generally good inspite of the few stucks and refusals. Yours truly got excited by the sight of an interesting dune formation and tested the convoy thru it. it was quite challenging for the newbies by the number of refusals and recoveries; but most of them enjoyed it.

thereafter, we kept the ante up and used a newbie+ level of drive, with our starred members at the rear of the newbie convoy satisfying their appetite for adventure and attending to the recoveries as and when required. Finally we reached the Pink Rocks and called it a day at the 2nd December cafe.

thanks a lot Duli, Bala Kumar, Gabor and Brad for the excellent support that each one of you rendered in conduct of this drive. this drive won’t have been a success without you.
