I’m new to this lovely form, I have been in the desert with another club “couple of trips”, I’d like to join to have fun, meet cool people and upscale my skills :), I do have the required equipment an I have applied for the trip. is there anything else I need to do?

It seems you’re good to go if you have a flag and radio, plus the basic gear. We have a really nice route planned and look forward to meeting you on Friday!

I have driven a few times in the sand alone. I have a VW Touareg…3.6 2015. Will it be good enough for this trip? I have rope..Flag and radio I do not have.. But i can buy one…if you can tell me where to find one….Do I have to pay to join this trip? Thanks, Rahul.

I just joined the group and quite exited about the drive on Friday.
I have most recovery gear, and a little practice of going off-roading with my friends.
But I’m concerned if my Motorola walkie-talkie (picture below) will be able to tune in to your operating bands. Can you please confirm if it is ok?
And also i don’t have a flag pole until now. How do i get it?

This is the correct Radio, does not even need to be tuned.
For Flagpole try Radical Motorsport in Al Quoz, they might be even able to fix it tomorrow itself.

b. Do not buy anything now, come along for the trip and see if this is something that you would like to do regularly and then maybe you can invest in this hobby.
c. You do not have to pay anything to join this trip.

You need a flag with a mount, preferably not a suction cup one and a radio that you know how to tune.
Let us know if you need any assistance arranging those items.
