    All Level Friday Afternoon Drive on 17th January ‘2020

    Drive Meet: 01:00 PM
    Drive Start: 01:30 PM
    Drive End: Sunset
    Drive Terrain: Sand dunes with some challenging beautiful areas.

    For those who want to pray, Friday prayers can be conducted at the mosque at this link:

    The mosque is a minutes away from the meeting point and the Friday prayers are typically held at about 12:30 pm on Fridays

    CHECKLIST:
    1. Your emergency contact info must be available at Dubai Offroaders website.
    2. Ensure your 4×4 vehicle is in perfect condition and with full fuel tank at the meeting point.
    3. Carry all necessary offroad gears/recovery equipment in good condition.
    4. Carry enough water/refreshments/re-hydration drinks for yourself & co-passenger(s).
    5. Make sure that your spare tyre is in workable condition.
    6. Your vehicle must have front and rear tow points.
    7. Seat belt must be on while driving including passenger(s).
    8. Read your vehicle owners manual to be acquainted with the 4WD system.
    9. Radio (tuned to frequencies used by DO)
    10. Flag

    Regarding the radio

    Can you advise where I can get it tuned and where to purchase from ?

    Hi Nikhil, you can get the radio from Dragon Mart and you can ask them to tune the frequencies for you. Thanks.

    Hi

    I am keen to join the drive but have never been on the driving seat myself when off-roading.

    My main concern is my car, I have a Lexus GX460 2013 model. Not sure if it is a safe car for off-roading, in particular for the drive on 17th January. More importantly, for the long-term, I am looking to get into basic off-roading, nothing major, basic dunes (if there are as such), so not sure if this car would be good enough for it. Or would I need to modify it somewhat or install some bumpers or something? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hopefully next time it’s more eastwards of Dubai again.
