Hi – just registered for this drive – never driven on sand before so will be looking for help to get set up etc. I have competed in the past but this is totally new to me – really looking forward to it and to meeting you all.

Hi Neal, welcome to the club.

We look forward to you joining us for the Friday drive.

Please have a look at the rules of the trip and equipment you will need for the trip which is located at the very top of the post. You will need a walkie talkie and sand flag for the drive.

    :thanks:

Thanks for the fun drive today to all the marshals! First time in 5 years I have seen hail in the UAE, quite an experience, especially with no roof!

It was a rainy drive in the desert which brings it own charm to the environment in this part of the world 🙂 .

I was assigned as the sweep in Mathew’s Newbie convoy and was supported by Asem. Omar was the second lead followed by Neal, Avinash, Asem, Manolo, Mustafa and myself.

Sanjay kept it simple yet challenging for the newbies and we had the customary stucks and pop-out. We were then forced to take a long break due to the heavy downpour and were content to just sit in the car and enjoy the view and the pitter-patter on the windshield and the windows =p~ . Following this, Sanjay decided to play it safe and cut down on the slides to avoid any accidents due to the hard sand surface.

All in all it was a good drive as we got to experience the sand in the heat as well as the rain and we all made it out safely to Tawi.

Everybody drove well. Omar did a good job at second lead and so did Mustafa as the second last convoy member :ymapplause: . Manolo, Avinash and Neal kept up the pace with the rest of the convoy and learned some new things today :-BD .

Thank you Sanjay for the lead and Asem for the sweep duties :thanks: .

It will be nice to hear the feedback of the rest of the members as well as from the other convoys.

It really was raining cats and dogs. I thought you came over to my car to have some chit-chat while it rained but now I remember that you were driving topless 😉 …….. 😀
