DO presents another adventure :drive:
and this time it will be across the border down to Oman!On Friday April the 17th we are heading down E44 across the Omani border and into the scenic mountain side reaching wadi Sarfah, where we shall regroup to deflate and set off onto the trail!

Oman insurance for your vehicle is also recommended!

0505084806Hi Joe,
Can you please be more specific with your statement “low ground clearence” or give a few examples, to be sure whether the 4x4s with stock suspension and springs are good enough to drive on these rugged terrains.
Thank you in advance for this nice drive ๐
I will try to join
Regards,
MustafaHi Mustafa,
most vehicles with proper 4 wheel drive systems will do just fine with their stock suspension and gearing, example: FJ cruiser, prado, pajero, fortuner, wrangler, landrover, …etc,
others with AWD systems and lower profiles will struggle at times and are prone to body damage…AnonymousApril 17, 2015 at 6:11 am #32847Enjoy the drive / weekend everyone while I am at work and the car in the garage X(
Hi Joe ๐ !!! Oh really I missed this trip but we have ” Rush A Way ” event today !! any how am still looking for a trip which you are a leader on it so am waiting for it ๐ !!!

April 18, 2015 at 6:01 am #32849Beautiful !!!
This drive was Joe’s twist on the Wadi drive, literally and figuratively!!!
We had some nice Rock crawling too which gave some hair raising moments to a few members and consequently to us, as well!!!The convoy emerged from the Wadi onto some Red Sand Dunes near Al Hayer on the Omani side of the border fence and struggled for some time before regaining the Wadi track and returning home.
Thanks to Sasha and John for the convoy support and rescue during the drive.
๐AnonymousApril 18, 2015 at 6:25 am #32850Joe, thanks for organising (and scouting) this trip!
Both the mountains and the dunes where really beautiful and my wife and myself enjoyed the scenery.
At times, we had more than enough time to contemplate the landscape B-)
Thanks as well your excellent on-foot marshalling job, especially on that narrow S-turn between the boulders that allowed me to bring back my car without any dent.
:thanks: -
