I second Shan’s Idea. because on that side
1. The dunes are not ruined with many tracks
2. Yes, the stucks are inevitable, but I belive we will be having enough vehicles to pull the stuck out, or I suggest In case of stuck frist let the newbies try to get unstcuk themselves under the guidance of seniors, if the try is unsuccesfull then we always have a option to pull. This will give newbies and even intermidiate a chance to learn some thing.
3. I have been to that side only once and I wanted to go again :ymblushing:๐
If we have enough cars, with enough experience between them – I vote for inter+ drive.
Location: Roshan decides – I haven’t been to either Area 53 or Pyramids. If you think we’re ready – let’s go !!
Alternatively, if we have newbie’s, we can do a Pink Rock drive – 6.30-8.00 and a more challenging one from 8.00 to 9.30.
Thanks guys for the updates. it really was a fun drive. :thanks: First time going desert driving and i guess i did gud enuf. :drive:
Thanks to Roshan for filling my vehicle with desert sand :-w and also for his good advice on the Big Red by which i got stuck. B-)
Overall it was gud. Waiting for next week’s ride.๐ just a query. if some one can give advice,
After last weeks ride. i noticed that my engine noise had increased. is it because of driving in D2 and D1. is the increased noise normal or after few days it will return back to normal sound ? will this affect fuel efficency too ? #-o
Engine power had also reduced but after i cleaned the air filter it is ok now. :p
The engine noise is due to high rpm during sand driving, because you tend to stay in D1/D2. This applies when you use D1/D2, in the desert or elsewhere.
Once you are out, and on tarmac, you will use a higher gear, and therefore, the engine will not strain as much.
If the engine sounds different, either you have become more sensitive to it (this happened in my case) or some sound insulating cladding may have fallen off (unlikely).
More sound usually means more fuel consumption, usually due to higher rpm. Keep an eye on the rpm when driving normally. It should not exceed 3,000rpm when cruising.
Hi
Greatly enjoyed my first drive inspite of driving with a bad viral :thanks: :drive: ……Never imagined it would be so soon.
Its given me great level of confidence……..just that the excitement kept me in bed for 2 days
Do you think I can join for the next drive as you guys are planning an inter+ drive?
Regards
Vinu (Xterra)
