YAY! Roshan is back with us ! :p
hhehe – as Albertho mentioned, we need Roshan!
He is very patient, teaches us, and has helped Albertho and myself develop leaps and bounds. Not to mention he is a great guy !
Most probably I shall meet you guys again in the morning at the Emirates P. Station. ๐

Participant List for 14th Nov:
01 Roshan and Shahzad, FJ Cruiser
02 Naveen, Nissan Patrol
03 Lanson, Chevy Tahoe
04 Dino, Jeep Grand CherokeeHighlights:
Crest recovery x1 – FJ being crested recovered by Patrol
Popout x1 – Tahoe
30 minutes of fun drive followed by a nasty popout on Tahoe in a ditch.
The poped out tyre was beyond repair and bumper was dent.
Inspite of placing several jacks at different points, the jacks seem’d to slip of the jacking board which arised the need of Air Jacks. Triple A never helped becoz the 4×4 driver is asleep on friday’s :|. Finally we had to connect three tow ropes and use the Patrol to tow the Tahoe out of the ditch. Thanx to Naveen. After reaching flat ground, we found a jacking point and replaced the tyre only to find out there was a air leak on one of the tyres of the FJ and radiator hose leak on the Cherokee.
Replacing FJ’s tyres was quick. Luckily Shahzad carries rubber in his wallet and that came in handy for the first time to fix the hose leak temporarily. :p
Loss time of over 4 hours.
New tyre for the Tahoe = Dhs 1100/-
Bumper Fixing on Tahoe = Dhs 7000/- ( Courtesy of Liberty Motors )Excellent recovery effort by Naveen & Shahzad. We coud’nt had made it through without you. :thanks:
November 15, 2008 at 12:21 pm #8481Oh my, thats some nasty loose sand Roshan. glad you guys were ok and came onto the tarmac even with delays.

My experience with Airjacks has been extremely pathetic…a hi-lift jack may be a better option…but carrying it is a pain… :-\
