Desert Insurance Cover on Old 4×4

I recently bought a 10 year old LR Discovery to take to the desert and was told at the insurance brokerage by the RTA near MOE that I could not get desert coverage for a car this old.
Any one have any advice on this?
This is essentially a derivative of Comprehensive Insurance Cover.
Desert coverage is only provided in case of vehicles having comprehensive Insurance cover.
Vehicles older than 5-6 years are not provided Comprehensive Insurance by most Insurance Companies.
