All members of MEO are entitled to free entry to CLUB SUBMARINE at the Dhow Palace Hotel in Bur Dubai. Ladies will also be getting a free drink.
Normally, entry is Dhs. 60 per person (which has been waived for MEO members).
Those wanting to avail this offer can call me and I will identify you as MEO members to the management… heck, I’ll even book your tables for ya…

As discussed, let’s have some identification procedure/ card for the members…then we can negotiate more such offers from outlets/ companies.

Seeking comments on design for a membership card… Here’s something I was playing with…We’ll get this laminated… your comments?

– what will be the size of card,
– we can have a Photograph as well (It will not fulfill much purposes but a membership card without photo looks odd to me)– the orange colour is too bright.my suggestion to change it to blue or maroon.
– you have used word “only” twice, which I fell is not appropriate.
– the texture and everything else is just fine.:thanks:

Pictures is a problem… as getting each member to send in their pictures is a project in itself… we’re having difficulty collecting money for the MEO Anniversary party too… so running after each member to get their photos will be an exercise we can do without… although principally I do agree that it would be better to have mug shot of the member on the card…
The colours… you say its too bright… actually I have tried to follow the logo colors… so that the theme runs through…
The size would be slightly bigger that your average visiting card… the top part will have a hole so that a lanyard can go through it…

The picture looks very nice indeed. The bright colors gain attention Humsafar….and its looks cool too… 😉
IMO, keep the card sized as a normal visiting/identity card….so that it fits in the wallet…
there is no need to write car number….what if tomm i decide to sell my cruiser? what if tomm i decide to join a trip in my friends patrol? what if…..
there is no need to write designation as well…..what i would suggest is to have two or three sets of colors….keep the orange for members….amd keep red for marshalls….
and do we really need a id card for members? i say no, instead of id cards, lets have memorabilia’s of this club….customized tees or caps gets my vote….

Hey i support the factor about car number and having colour codes instead of designations plus it would be good if we can get small mug shots also.
Regarding collecting pictures from members. Just put up a Thread for people to post their PP size pics and whoever posts, just make cards for them. If someone asks why he didnt get one just tell i didnt get ur photo. this should prompt people to send their pics soon.
