Well things are beyond ones control at times!

Now the situation is such that if Eid falls on Tuesday then Thursday is a working day for some of the members,so unless they could take off on the said thursday we will have to reschedule our Liwa trip for another long weekend.

Please all those wanting to participate could you reply confirming that even if Eid is on Tuesday you could still join the Liwa trip which would then be on Thursday and Friday, and if Eid falls on wed then also we shall have the trip on Thursday and Friday.

Guys lets have things finalized and if majority feels that Thursday is an office day then we call this liwa trip quits!!!!

Please fill me in with your inputs so that if the overnight trip is not on then we could have a one day drive on the Friday.

    Dear Ali,

    Who is the second car???(DRIVER)

We are talking about two days off road drive in LIWA!!

Some what serious drive even for the experienced offroaders, so please be careful inviting your town friends for such a trip.

    hi

If Eid falls on a wednesday, then i am in for thursday & friday.

& if somebody could help me in telling where i can get a good toe rope (heavy duty),
& also what all i need to carry if i am going for this camping trip, i mean do i need tent, sleeping bags & anything etc…,

and also if zubair bhai, & ahmed bhai could advise me on where to get a heavy duty jack, i am ready to invest for a good one on behalf of the team so we could use it for our future purposes.

Let me know guys so i can sort out everything by tomorrow and the day after

    Thanx & regards
May god bless us in everything to go as per plan.

    BREAKING NEWS! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Eid falls on Tuesday or Wednesday,we are going to Liwa on Thursday and coming back on Friday afternoon.

The final plan is as follows.

We all meet at 8.00 am on Thursday the 2nd of Oct at Emarat gas station just after jebl ali.

The convoy will move at 8.30 am sharp from there and will reach white sands (deflation point) at 10.30 am.

We start drive on the proposed route by 10.45 am.

We shall stop for the lunch break at 2.00 pm.

Try to reach the tarmac at hameem by 4.30 pm to 5.00 pm latest.

We refuel at ADNOC gas station and use the toilet facility.

We drive off road further for 15 mins and reach the camp site around 5.30pm and set up our tents and the camp site etc.

Watch the sunset and have some good fire and cooking going on.

Wake up next morning and have our coffee and breakfast and everyone to be ready by 8.30 am.

We would drive upto the famous UAE Desert Challange last stage track and enjoy the real nice track and the scenic gazzalles in hundreds(hopefully) like always,as many feeding points there.

We shall stop for lunch around 1.00 pm.

After lunch we shall drive towards tarmac or car mueseum depending upon a collective voting .

All those interested please make sure your vehicle is in optimum condition and you carry tents, beddings, water, food and snacks.

As for the wood we shall carry some and if not then locally arrange there(purchase and collect).

Guys all those who want to join the trip please register latest by tomorrow.

MIND YOU ITS A INTERMEDIATE AND NOT AN EASY DRIVE!

You can buy good camping stuff from ACE Hardware.
Camp (coleman), Sleeping bag, fleece(waterproof), oil lamp/torch(wooden), battery operated lantern (rolson), Some basic swiss knife type, candles good for light inside, fragrance and also work as mosquito repellent.

You can also buy good tow rope and jack from ACE, but usually these recovery stuff is always out of stock. So in shj on BMW road go to Alico and buy fantastic jack and tow rope. Make sure rope is above 3 ton – 5 ton (rated) and buy shackles which is also rated.

from ACE u can pick bushranger compressor if you dont have one.

Good Gaurav for the offer to help out, you could directly call Zubair or I & we could co-ordinate.
Liwa is the only alternative now with some semblance of wilderness in it.
Zubair organized a number of drives last year for DDC, I really enjoyed those trips…
especially the one on 25th Jan, when the temprature dropped to below 10Celsius :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
This season too, I am sure Zubair will not let any oppurtunity slip…for Liwa ๐Ÿ™‚
