…and of course no one mentions the fact that a JEEP recovered a FJ cruiser… sometimes I feel like a mad man raving and drooling in the desert… hold on… maybe I am a mad man raving and drooling in the desert but with the knowledge that it was a JEEP that recovered a FJ cruiser… okay, okay, the same FJ cruiser had to recover me due to the fact that I was in 2WD (thanks Thanseer for pointing that out to me).
@ Brian, Amjed and Ganesh : Thanks for the detailed reports and reliving the trip.
@ Musbah : Thanks for the video.
@ Thanseer, Ganesh, Ashok, Gkumar and Amjed : Thanks for leading this trip.Hope to have more adventures with you guys in the future :drive:

A memorable event like this surely deserves to be mentioned! The ease of the recovery was something I will never forget… what was I talking about?!?
Seen the 3 wonders of nature….Happy with the drive and thus lead to GNFD also….I was literally standing on my accelerator to climb up, But the vehicle stopped…..I need to do some homework in relation to the speed weight etc….. ;;) I paid the desert tax in the form of frond mud guard…..My gear shifting was little dangerous in first session as a heavy increase in speed caused the car to jump very badly and landed on soft sand (lucky it was not nose down)…..I will try the devils plunge on the coming drives… ๐ . I feel an elephant sitting on the back of my car when i was in the middle of hill climbing (Devils plunge)…..Drive terrain was soft compared to other drives, More adventurous…breath taking moments….Power moments……Thanks to all who drawn the drive map from Khatam to Tawi….Pics are not yet processed, It will be posted soon…..Thinking to join for more similar drives….
:ymhug:
AH Yes… Ah yes an FJ was pulled by a Jeep :thanks:
AND
AND
AND
do I, don’t I? Tyn has already…..
Amjed says we don’t………
but the FJ did come to the assistance of the jeep…his rope and our shackle /:) ๐Ganesh & Ashok :thanks: for your wonderful encouragement
I like Amjed’s comment about forgetting, but learning from, the stucks B-) I guess we are all in the adventure together…we leave and we come back …… all of us. The less experienced learn from those with more experience and those with more experience grow richer by sharing their knowledge :ymhug:
About 20years ago, almost to the day in fact, I worked as ops manager for the ’92 winter Olympic in the French Alps, over my desk I put this huge sign

ie. You pulled an F150 with your old Jeep 8cm (4 attempts X 2 cm each move).

๐ yes approximately ๐ or lets say 1m total, just enough for the gravity to take over ๐
quote forgoz:Thinking for a recovery…?? ๐
There are 2 different kinds of recovery thoughts in the picture……one from the marshals and the driver himself…..and the other is the machine, the giant, the stock on the top….which recovered many cars for the day….. :yesss: :yesss: :yesss:
Hello DO and the team that headed out on the 5th morning, it was a fab drive near fossil rock which i had been meaning to see for a while and the drop down from pink.
Gotta thank Ganesh & Thanseer for the 4H vs the 4Hlc that was explained that made a huge improvement in the power output from my Pajero and could reach the summit without much trouble.
The low front fender of the pajero goes in for a chop this weekend and i will be ready for the next drive after the GNFD.
Thank you again for a great morning.
Thomas..its nice to hear that you felt the difference of using the 4H gear while driving…
After all….myself and Thanseer we both are Pajeros.. ๐ ….and about the training part…thats one of best thing in this group….
Dubai Offroaders have always been keen on providing the best of training possible and the utmost safety…We dont want anyone to go home with their damaged car…and you will youself feel the difference after driving with us some more drives in future…
Lots of people have some different ideas about Pajeros in desert…but I feel atleast after 42 drives, I can confidently say that Pajeros are also made for desert….and we have a brilliant example of the lead Marshal Thanseer too….
You can throw in whatever questions and clarifications you have about any vehicle…we are there to help you out…
Cheers ๐
