We started with some fast technical ridges and cresting as we made our way parallel with the fence into the desert. We then started to cut across to Iftar Bowl. Along the way we encountered some untouched bowls that allowed some nice elegant lines to be carved and some tight technical dunes that tested the convoys ability. Our approach to Iftar Bowl was a new one for me and we had some nice high climbs and side sloping fun as we circled around to the main face of Iftar. Brad had chance to test out his new throttle spacer, for some extra power/response (Not sure that if that’s needed in a V8 patrol) but he thoroughly recommended it. At Iftar Bowl we encountered a lone woman driving in a old school land-cruiser pickup that was confidently speeding around in the dunes. We then travelled through some nice high dunes to Superbowl before exiting in the farm area.
All the convoy drove extremely well, especially as I had upped the difficulty from last drive, and If memory serves correct I believe there were no recoveries/2nd attempts from the convoy. I’m always impressed that Stuart (GrandDubai) manages to follow my tight turns and high climbs in his under-powered (No offence) long wheel base Jeep, especially after having driven it myself – Kudos.
Many thanks to Sahil Francis and Alex who were at the back in support and Philip for his second lead. Nice meeting Eloy, our newest recruit to AM drives.June 27, 2017 at 6:56 am #39374May be route was the same as Friday but there were two factors which made it different then Friday.
Weather was awesome compare to Friday. I could do my favourite thing and drive with open windows :drive:
Second is that there were same crazy friends at the back who made drive with taste of spicy ridges =p~
