I led the newbie convoy today with Krister as support/sweep (many thanks). We started off slowly on an easy route travelling towards Pink Rock. As my confidence grew in everyone’s ability so did the drive level. We had an exciting drive for Newbies on the return to Big Red with only a couple 2nd attempts.
quote Eloy_Rod post_id=44616 time=1496460158 user_id=25181:Thank you Joe for leading a fabulous newbie convoy, it was fast paced and was a lot of fun. Thank you Sebastian for sweeping and thank you to everyone for the patience with my passengers motion sickness. Great drive as always ??You are most welcome ! This was a good Fewbie :drive:, and all of you did well hope to see you all on the sands!
What a drive yesterday ๐ก , one of the best in few weeks :yesss: . Started with big red taking all the big dunes towards pink rock :drive: , everyone was keeping up well and considering the small size of convoy we decided to go towards Faya. This turned out be a very good decision, Faya area was all clean and just us in that area. Did the climb and took almost all the bowls behind, then crossing camel rock reached till fossil rock drop. The drop was quiet bad as most of the sand was blown away exposing all the rocks :-ss . Well with some screeching sounds on the rocks managed to cross :ymparty: . After all this there was still daylight and dunes behind fossil rock were tempting =p~ . So with a few second tries and circling in the bowls managed to reach at the top B-) . With that calling it a day out exited on E102 at KFC petrol pump @7. Thanks everyone for driving with me and @sahil for sweeping and keeping the convoy organised and on track all the time.
Thanks Ankit for the great drive. Every drive is a good learning session.
Fossil rock area was quite challenging ๐ I have already changed the light cover, more fears than harm.
And the last bowls before the end were tricky too. I did 3/4 attempts but it worked ๐
Have a nice week! Thanks Ankit and Sahil for an exceptional challenging drive. :drive: I have learnt a lot about my vehicle and its limitations. ๐ The drive was well balanced with lots of fun =)) and some serious dunes to navigate. Also big thanks to my co-pilot and radio operator who kept the spirit going all the way. :thanks:
