April 12, 2016 at 10:42 am #35583quote Ankit:@Saif Thanks for the valuable advice. Actually yesterday I was checkingย the nearest petrol station from the meeting point. 1st option was just after Al Faqa exit 24.691083,55.633650 which is before 86km from the meeting point. 2nd option is opposite to the meeting point 24.209721,55.517659. So my question is- Is option 2 easily accessible from meeting point or we should plan to refuel at option 1? Or maybe can suggest some other option. Reagrding the terrain I cheched in sattelite view and must admit the view is amazing =p~ . I have not driven on something like that :-ss
Hi Ankit, I put the coordinates in the drive post for the petrol station closest. Perhaps you missed but that is easiest option for fuel.
All members need to plan accordingly for the time it takes to drive and refuel as its a long way to come and miss the departing convoys.

would love to join my first drive with you guys, but missing a compatible radio, all others i got.
anyone can help with that?Hi Akis, a compatible radio is a must so please ensure you have one in time for the drive. If this is your first time in the sands this is also probably not the best drive to come to for your first time. If this is the case I would suggest you come on the drive next weekend which will be a little easier going. Same applies to all first timers. Thanks for the understanding. :thanks:
well, alright then….i’ll pop in dragon mart and sort myself out for next week… :((
have fun and …share a link on youtube will ya?April 15, 2016 at 7:41 am #35604quote Akis XTerra:hi everyone.

AnonymousApril 16, 2016 at 7:37 am #35608This was an unforgettable day!
:-BDThe area is just fantastic, with ridges everywhere, big dunes, amazing scenery,,,,, the kind of driving fun you find at Super bowl and Iftar bowl but in a larger playground and great views. ๐ก
It’s worth the long drive to get there! ๐
:thanks:
Thanks Duncan for organizing this trip…. now we all hope you’ll take us there again! ๐And personally, I wouldn’t mind an earlier meeting time (like midday). ๐
I posted a video and a few pictures on the Facebook group. B-)
The Advance drive last Friday was a spectacular event ๐ . It was my first opportunity to ride with @DuncanField :-ss and it was for sure an eye-popper ๐ฎ ! A while back I asked a wise man ( @JustDen ) why does Duncan always do the advance drives and his response was simple, โwhat belongs to Caesar, let Caesar have!โ ^:)^
Duncan is an adrenaline-infused, ridge-shaving junkie :drive: and he leads his convoy on a ride that will have you asking yourself if you are still on the ground or flying through space \M/ . You get to see dunes from a whole new perspective and find yourself crossing dunes where you once thought impossible.
Sweihan was a great area to first ride with Duncanโs convoy. The dunes were very tall, steep, and capped with razor sharp ridges :-ss . Flying on top of these ridges with 20-30 meters drop on either side is quite a thrill ride :-BD . The bowls were huge with nice approaches and exits. We covered about 70km in roughly 3.5 hours. The pace was fast with no issues whatsoever. We crossed Sand Mountain but did not stick around long to play as it was quite busy. Just before the end we ran into Baher and the newbie convoy; it was a nice treat to see our friends having a blast too! :ymhug: :ymhug:
Thanks Duncan for a fantastic ride :ymapplause: and to Asim for the support as sweeper :ymapplause: and to Fadi for putting on an incredible show with your driving! :ymparty: :thanks:
The drive was a fabulous one and, as always, another great Friday afternoon with Dubai Offroaders! :ymparty: :ymparty:
Thanks @DuncanField for a great drive. And as always Nice report @matthewficco. During the drive I noticed we were actually split into 2 convoys. 1st led by Duncan and 2nd lead by @Panther (Fadi) ๐ who was doing all crazy stuff at the back :)) and was followed by @Sash716 & @Asem Ahmed. Really awesome driving guys :ymapplause: .
I remember Duncan saying he din’t continue on the planned route as we will not be able to make it in time. So now waiting for Duncan to take us back to that area again and finish the drill B-) .
