quote Rein:Hi Kumar,
I’ve registered for this drive keeping in mind the outcome of your decision.
The reason for my enrollment is because I do not want to miss the opportunity in an event of another simultaneous drive will be conducted depending on the driver’s skill levels and availability of Marshall. I have also enrolled myself for the Fewbie drive the same afternoon.Noted Rein :thanks:
You are an experienced offroader :-BD hopefully, you should be in for this drive πHey Mr Gkumar sir, I’ve just read your Liwa write up…excellent my friend. :thanks: As numerous have said on that forum, you feel like you’re there π , so very well done for transmitting the tension, trill and fun that was had over those 2 days. A different scene, as you know, from my own recent Liwa experience. Lots of motivation to work towards an :drive: invite!! Probably not the right place to make these comments π

:thanks: & :ymapplause: ^:)^ ^:)^ to DO Firstly now sir GKumar for organizing the trip, Khalil for his great lead in difficult terrain ..very nice :drive: Khalil :thanks: more :thanks: to ‘the Winchman’ and Ali for their unflagging humour, Ganesh for his hearty ‘Good morning’ at some ungodly hour on a sand swept roadside! My companions Rien and dhvalm for thier comaradship and all the others drivers on this trip
Great mornings fun in the sand…excellent in fact. It’s amazing, the dunes I mean, there we are miles from anywhere 5 vehicles and a bunch of humans, the group became tighter as the minutes went to hours. I’ll let others tell the story and post some pics on FB as will Ali I’m sure any way
π
Oh Khalil I did get to Humayuns drive RDV with enough time to spare to swop the mornings stories with Sanjay, I floated all the way on a natural high of good company a good drive and good ols rock & roll π π
:thanks:February 1, 2013 at 4:06 pm #22766Excellent new track exploration experience, a total of approx. 40.5kms in 4hrs of driving fun and negotiating the tricky and challenging unexplored dunes.
Now that the track has been recorded, and will be appropriate to name it as Khalilβs Track; I am sure the rest of the team would like to drive this thrilling route soon. It is amazing to see how Khalil unleash his talents in reading and understanding the dunes wherein he lead us with ease. Rob did ensure that no one was left behind.
A couple of popouts and a few crest-off stuck rescues were tackled with ease by Rob and Khalil. Overall the drive was a great fun and was completed safely.
Thanks to Kumar and the members of the task force for organizing this drive. Thanks to Brian, Dhaval, Robinson & Khalil for providing the fast pace fun experience. :drive: :ymapplause:Thanks Brian and Rein for the report. Enjoyed driving with all of you guys … and you all did well.
A nice exploration drive indeed with great company. We were blessed with different types of terrains in one drive, short & small dunes + long and tall dunes with soft sand in random areas. Thanks Rob for the support, it was a demanding drive indeed and it is always a pleasure driving with you.See you guys soon
Cheers
The Marshals in DO always love to make their members experience new terrains….and this was one of them….nice to see everyone at the meeting point…had some nice welcoming chit-chat….good to see the Robinson couple after a long time….and also to receive fresh morning welcome from Brian…
Once everyone were ready….Khalil took his convoy aside…short breifing and started his drive with the Winchman as his sweep….On the other hand Kumar with his convoy waited for Ashok to arrive…gave a nice breifing about the terrain and the precautions to be taken by the new-fewbees as this is the first time I have driven with the fewbees in this area…
Kumar was the lead followed by our ADH family – Firoz, next Imran, Sanjay Mathews, Thomas and then myself and Ashok to complete the convoy at sweep….Ashok was given the task to be EVERYWHERE π
The drive started and within 5 kms we had our first message on the radio – POP OUT!!!!!!…Imran had his Prado popped out and when we trying to check it….we thought the ghosts of tomorrow’s drive are already here to witness and challenge us in welcoming to their territory….bcoz along with the pop-out….two other cars were out of air in one of the their tyres at the same time….
Absoulte brilliant job by Sanjay Mathews with his well equipped tools and immediately in action to recover all the three cars…We spent nearly an hour in rescuing all the three cars and then proceeded further….Kumar as the lead had to change his initial plan of the intermediate level of the drive and divert it difficulty level to fewbee+….The next part of the drive was very well paced beating the soft and tricky small dunes….Every member had good time in experiencing a hint of intermediate level drive with crest cutting and side sloping….
At one point I found myself sunk into the sand for no reason….reminding LIWA for a moment…
With a couple of stucks by Thomas and a second pop-out by Imran which was once again recovered by Mathews in no time even before the marshals could reach the spot after recovering Thomas fighting the sand storm…Gr8 job Mathews u indeed deserve an applause bro :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause:
It was already 12 and Kumar decided to touch the road and drive back to Al Faqa Adnoc in 15 minutes….inflated tyres and left bck home…
Thanks a ton Kumar for the excellent lead and special thanks to Ashokbhai along with his short-gun Mujeeb for all their support provided to the members….
Gr8 job by Mathews and wonderful driving by all the participants… :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause:
See you all for another thrilling drive…..hahahaha tomorrow is the day….lets hope the ghosts :ymdevil: :ymdevil: :ymdevil: welcome us with ease…
Cheers….

See you all for another thrilling drive…..hahahaha tomorrow is the day….lets hope the ghosts :ymdevil: :ymdevil: :ymdevil: …
