This is an exciting adventurous route that can take us all the way to Al’Ain if the participants drive well…otherwise we will terminate the drive at some point on the nearest tarmac at Sunset time.

:thanks: to Ahmed for the lead, :thanks: to Baher and Faheem for the sweep support, and :thanks: to everyone in the convoy for the great company!

    Till next time… drive safe!

You know you’ve had fun when you’ve done 100kms of off-road :drive: covering Al Faqa – Nahel – Sand Mountain – Old Lady Dunes – Sweihan ๐Ÿ™‚ and reaching an elevation of 300m.

Initially we drove in a single convoy of 14 cars led by Ahmad Sb, with Zakariya as second lead and supported by Baher, Faheem and Rakesh, It was a nice and easy stretch with a couple of challenging spots for the newbies which were tackled with duly. We took a prayer and lunch break at one of the Al Faqa water tanks and had a bit of chit chat :-@

Humayun and Saif joined us at Nahel and the convoy was then split into two. Ahmad Sb was leading the newbie convoy and Rakesh and Baher graciously volunteered to provide support :-BD . The second convoy was led by Humayun with his partner-in-crime, Saif as sweep. Needless to say, we drove at good speed and soon found ourselves at Sand Mountain. We then played around a bit in the nearby areas before proceeding to Old Lady Dunes and then exiting close to Seih Al Saleem. A lot of side cresting, side sloping on big and small dunes as is customary in the Sweihan area with Humayun leading the way. We had minimal stucks of regular nature and got a lot of time to play around. Zakariya was fantastic as second lead and Faheem and Adil also drove admirably.

Thank you all for a good day out. :thanks:

I’ve noticed that there are hardly any drive reports lately. It would be nice if members, both new and old pitch in with their reports, feedback and suggestions. This information would be useful to Marshals to plan future drives. For e.g. I would love to do a reverse route of what we did yesterday and exit at either Nahel or Al Faqa Adnoc where there are inflation and refreshment facilities available.
