    Have increased the display size of the pictures in the Gallery section. Now you’ll view the pictures in a slightly bigger size… in their full glory!

    Please try and post pictures in the MAIN category instead of individual User Galleries. Don’t worry, your name will appear under each photo uploaded by you… so you are credited for your pictures. Slowly, we will try and phase out individual User Galleries so that all trip pictures are under their respective folders and everyone can pool into that folder of that particular trip. This way pictures of each trip will be in that trip’s folder.

    Of late, many trip pictures are posted on the Forum threads due to size constraints. As a result, we’ve made some changes and now you can upload your hi-res images to the Gallery without getting a quota warning. Your quota has been increased. So lets try and post pictures in the Gallery as far as possible so that even if people are unable to attend any particular trip, they can enjoy the photos without going to the Forum thread of that particular trip. I seek your co-operation in this regard.

    Any other suggestions /advise on how to make this forum even better are always welcome…

    Have created a special folder called ‘Coffee with Roshan Series’ in the Gallery… You, or any of the participants, can directly upload pictures into that folder. This way all trip pictures will remain organised and it will be easier for other members to browse through them.

    Hamza,

    Just a suggestion. The coffee with Roshan series has pics from different drives. So if somebody wants to see some photos updated last or of a last drive in particular its not easy to find them. cuz all the photos seem jumbled up.
    Are the pics maintained according to file name ?

    How about having an option to list by date and then it would be easier to view the latest pics added ?
    or else the pics should appear by last uploaded so that the latest pics appear first when you open a folder.

    Open CWR folder… Press “Last Uploads” on the top panel…. say abracadabra… and viola!… the new pics will get arranged as you want them….

    He is our gallery admin, so he is the best man to ask gallery questions. I manage the rest of the site and the servers .. 😉

    The gallery homepage has been changed. Finally coded a skin to match the feel of rest of the site. Naved uncle, let me know if you want any changes. I hope you guys like it.

    Naved uncle is the person who can answer this better than me. I am only on the coding part. You like the new look of the gallery? :p

    Roshan, nice suggestions… will try and implement as many as possible… Here are some practical issues facing us…

    1) Upload options to 20: The connection to server will time out…
    2) Choose album for each picture: I will upload the plug in for that as soon as I have FTP access… soon
    3) Choose album to upload pics… : Same as above
    4) Delete option for each user: Not practical… spammers are a problem we need to guard against! Why delete anyways?
    5) User ability to create albums: User albums will only have user pics…. we want to have trip albums where all participants can upload their pics in a trip album… rather than have different user albums for each trip… Script has limitations.

    Thanks for the suggestions… will implement some of your ideas ASAP…

    In the meantime… Hamza, the new design is good…. though I would rather not sacrifice substance for style… I mean, picture size is all that matters in a any photo gallery… the new design displays pictures in smaller size… as the right sidebar is eating up a lot of space… Any other skins available?

    Deleting was just an option incase u upload a wrong pic or a blurred one…thts all 🙂
