    Highly appreciated comments Kumar,

Input from all the Marshalls is very important but what’s more important is that as new drivers, we listen and apply as directed. I am all ears out there………………

    Your humble DO student,

Absolutely bang on Kumar….. David was the second lead in my convoy and I should really appreciate his skills. As we always say, the second lead has always a very important role to play in the convoy. He follows the main lead but the entire convoy follows him.

David has been following me perfectly and very cautiously. I absolutely had no worries in checking on any high dune as David use to wait for my orders to follow…

Excellent job David… well done bro :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause: … you have a bright future in offroading for sure…. keep driving and keep learning…

    Cheers

David Gula has already given the complete report…have nothing to say more…but to thank all the members who joined in for the drive…

Saj and Mehboob couldnt turn up as Saj’s mother had a heart attack on friday. Hope she recovers very soon. All our prayers are there for your mother Saj…. Take care buddy.

Everyone in my convoy drove very well…. Jason you did a great job too :ymapplause: and like the smile on your face knowing that you have seen the Iftar bowl for the first time…. ๐Ÿ˜€

Gabriel – great driving and gradually improving week by week… :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause:

Robinson – Thank you for all the support and advice to the members – I felt very relaxed in leading the convoy with you at the sweep :ymhug:

The drive to ghost town with along with Ashokbhai’s convoy was a good one with 11 cars in total… Everypne was given a brief about the terrain towards Ghost town and each one of you did a fantastic job :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :ymapplause: The dunes were much different than what we have seen before maybe because of the two day sand storm…

Kumar with his convoy reached the Ghost town soon and then everyone had a good time checking out the villas and also had a thought of having a BBQ session at this place sometime in summer very soon…

Overall a very good drive which started off well and also ended very pleasantly…. Thanks to everyone…

    Cheers

    At Tawi Nazwah shops, early!

What I remember most about reaching the top was the look on Musbahโ€™s face as I rounded his car to park next to him. I canโ€™t say who had the bigger smile, him or me but I know that I still have that smile thinking about it even now It is worth all the effort and early rise out of bed. It is a great sight and perfect site to conclude the dayโ€™s fun.

What we did on this day was for me absolute vindication that I have chosen the right club/crew to indulge my passion for off-road as well as for adventure. My thanks go out to all Marshalls, Sweeps and co-drivers for a perfect day out.

    :ymapplause:

Very nice report David, your enthusiasm & happiness cry out loud and Clear ๐Ÿ˜€

    Ashok’s convoy
Lead Ashok, second Davidoff, Rakesh, Amin, Musbha & sweep Amjed
short breif by the lead about the drive & terrain, the convoy rolled swiftly through tricky, soft, small & high dunes, all were in a excellent rythem, with small hicups with Rakesh rest all were doing excellent & Ashok was carving the track marvelously within no time the convoy was at Iftar bowl , and were in a fix that we were the last to reach Iftar bowl but to our surpise we were the first to be there, Musbah was on the top of Iftar bowl roarin in his new LC 5.7 monster and later join by Ganesh’s convoy , DVG joined Musbah on top of the Iftarbowl as it was his first time to conqure the height.
After trying to contact Kumar for a while , both convoys merged , Ganesh took the lead till Ghost Town and later were joined by Kumar’s convoy. After spending a while with Ghost Territory , all left to the tarmac. Hearts filled with joy and great feeling to the first timers with lots of memories capturing high dunes, tricky bowls , soft patches and few bitten by MDG ( mother desert ghost).

excellent driving by Davidoff being the second lead, rakesh need to drive more with us, Amin excelled the skills, Musbah excellent as always and Ashok as lead done the best taking in consideration of the convoy performace & excellent track.
Thanks to all for being with us & JUST FOR FUN.
look foward to see u all again .

After the greet and meet exchanges at T. Nazwa, we deflated, grouped at the start point as per the group assignment and after the briefing we set off.

Our convoy led by Marshall Kumar; myself on 2nd lead followed by Wasi, Carl and Brian as Sweep, commenced the drive by navigating though tricky dunes, hard and soft sand crests and sideslopes. The drive level gradually increasing as we navigated to the top of some of the highest dunes. The nightโ€™s before sandstorm made this drive more demanding due to the recently deposited sand covering up all the tracks and making the terrain as untracked sand. Driving up, side-sloped, crossed-over many dunes and their bowls, crests and pockets we were at the very top of Iftaar from the rear.

After enjoying the breath-taking view atop the Iftaar bowl, we descended and headed towards Ghost town traversing small dunes, avoiding the sinking sand spots and regrouped with the other convoy members.

This drive was action packed which demanded a lot from the driver and his machine, a small miscalculation/hesitation and silly mistakes landed some of us in an not so good situation which was easily solved by Brian and Kumar. A few valued advise from the master himself (Kumar) made the drive ending up FUN filled and SAFE.

Thanks to the task force members and the lead Marshalls for providing us with such a wonderful ride. Thanks to all the fellow DO members for joining in.

There isn’t much for me to add here, as the reports have all been well written.

I would just like to thank the club, the task force, and all of the members for the enjoyable trips so far.

    (Just don’t call the ghosts…)
