Thank you, but I won´t be there with my Jeep. I´m just looking for a shop, where I can get LED Bars, side skirts for the ZJ and stuff like that for example 🙂

ahh, accessories… sharjah bmw road has it all, but i doubt u will find anything for the ZJ
There is a used parts shop in sharjah, the guys sometimes have amazing stuff stripped away

    Hi Denis

I’m picking up on your comment about BMW road. I was also told to go shop there for “genuine” Toyota parts for my FJ Cruiser at a fraction of the normal price. I have never believed that finding the real thing at a fraction of the price is possible, and suspected that the BMW road option may be nothing but good imitations of the real parts. So this is the case then according to you?

    Hi Will,
There are all kind of deals on bmw road for toyotas. They have genuine (i mean really genuine) as well as duplicated (fake) and duplicated there are different quality and different prices. Im sourcing parts there for both cars i own thats jeep and ford and the shops im buying from are giving me the choice genuine or duplicate. From my experience fake are not worth it. You get what you pay for. But its true you can buy genuine parts cheaper than from official dealer. There is one “but” however… you have to fix it somewhere and if something goes wrong you have no warranty…
Which parts exactly you need to fix?

    Hi Will,

You can definitely find Genuine parts for your Toyota in bmw Street. There is a shop called Dubai international. I used to buy parts for my 350z there at half the price of the dealership who usually have very high mark ups. One way to check how genuine they are is to scan the barcode and Check if the search results match the exact part number. Their number is 065324793.

Thanks Denis & John – much appreciated. I’m looking for the FJ Cruiser roof rack and its going price at Toyota itself is about 4000 AED. Never been one to consider fake stuff, so not interested in that option at all. However, if there are genuine Toyota parts going cheap(er)…I’m there!

Hmmm… there is one more option

Looks like a good deal Denis – do you know (1) who the owner is, and (2) why they are selling it? The one reservation that I have on the Toyota rack is its relatively small load capacity (20kg?), the fact that they have such a reduced size/shape. It does however seem to be a trade-off between that and putting (e.g.) a full sized ARB rack on the FJ that can carry a huge amount of stuff…and ultimately overloading/destabilizing the FJ? Comments?

Side question – where could I get the fittings to hold a shovel and a Hi-Lift Jack onto the standard roofrack – any ideas?

    Hi Will
I have no idea on the owner of the ad… I just did a quick search on dubizzle, I saw several on sale
Considering it’s just a roof rack, I dont think it matters a lot who/why… important is if it’s in good condition, not damaged, etc.
And yes, obviously having extra load on the roof will increase total weight and will lift the center of gravity, reducing the handling.
You are absolutely right, it’s a trade-off… if you really need it, go for it, but keep in mind the downside of it while driving.

Fittings can be done at any workshop, too many to list… I cannot recommend as this type of job I would do it myself 🙂

    Hi John

Do I need any special technology to scan and confirm the bar code to the part number?
