GPS: Montana 6xx series

    I have talked a while ago about the Montana 6xx series as being the new GPS that Garmin is launching to replace the 256C ( It took them a while 🙂 )

    Now I can give you my feedback … I got my unit delivered last week from the US (could not wait anymore), as it is still not available here. I paied USD 560 for the 650 model (the one with a camera) + USD 40 for the Car Mount.

    Had to play with a bit, tried it in the desert, tried planning for trips, routes and tracks, uploading and downloading waypoints/tracks and routes from my PC, puchased Birdseye for satellite imagery on the GPS, The screen is very responsive and bright … All in all I am extremely pleased with it. It also brings many features that the 256C does not have, but wait … you’ll tell me that there all not required…. you’re right but wait … it’s really nice to have them …

    So if you have any question, do not hesitate… No wonder why the 256C was on sale in Carrefour 🙂

    It is already available in Amit Trading since 3 weeks now. i have already enquired it. Same price as what shows on Garmin website. Havent purchased it though. still contemplating !!!
