The Holy month of Ramadan is almost at its tail end, 30 days of fast and prayers. This year, in the intense heat it wasn’t easy after all. Opening of fast or Iftar would be somewhere after 7pm daily as the fast normally lasts from dawn to sunset. Muslims and non-muslims tend to gather with friends and family to break fast and so does various community of people. Speaking of communities, every off-road club has their Iftar drives, a quick run through the summer sand to find a spot under the stars to break the fast or do ‘Iftari’. It brings people together in the spirit of Ramadan.
This practise has been prevalent since a few years as an annual event, any reason to get together with like minded people, more or less. All the clubs decide to get together off Rifadaah desert area in the outskirts of Sharjah along Dubai-Hatta Road to break fast together. A splendid idea!!They have their individual drives but closer to Iftar all the club members meet at a common spot, fondly referred to as ‘Iftar Bowl’.
hope to see all our member in this trip.

Yes matt our plan to take track from starting point to Iftaar bowl however there is some dunes wich is close to Iftaar bowl that we need to cross to rech the point.
As I mentioned it will be one or two parallel convoy mixed level so we should take an easy route.June 15, 2016 at 10:36 am #36001The Iftaar time is 19:05 so after having it we will exit around 20:00, meby some Marshal plan to exit earlier or late
We had a great drive on Friday afternoon :drive: . Thanks to Abdalla for organizing and leading the newbie convoy :thanks: and Joe for leading the fewbie convoy :thanks: . It was amazing to see so many cars out at Iftar bowl and a strong showing from DO :ymparty: .
I believe we had around 25 to 30 cars out there 😮 . The newbie convoy had 14 cars in total led by Abadalla with Sam, Baher, and Ahmad keeping the peace in the back. We took some nice easy tracks to reach Iftar bowl around 6pm. Since there was no one else there we decided to continue on driving a bit tackling some of the larger dunes nearby :yesss:
We met up with the fewbie convoy shortly before arriving back at Iftar Bowl at 7pm :ymhug: . It was great to see such a crowd of UAE offroaders all gathered. After celebrating Iftar together with a variety of delicacies our group started to slowly disperse in mini convoys. It was a unique and relaxing afternoon spent with good company in the desert!
Thanks DO :ymapplause: :thanks:
